Castleton Fish & Chips

Probably the best fish and chips I had away from the coast! Really, it is pretty perfect, from the oil they use to fry all the way to the quality of the fish. The fish and chips are fried right in front of you, so it's super fresh.
Why only 4 stars? Well, for normal people who stay in Castleton for a few days, it's basically impossible to eat there because of their weird opening hours. Only on Friday it is open to 7 and then you have to arrive early if you don't want to wait in a queue for 30 minutes.
The business model is beyond me, but the fish is good 😂

Easily one of the nicest Fish & Chip shops I’ve had. The food was utterly delicious. The chips were perfect, nice soft inside with a crisp outside, not the least bit greasy and incredibly fresh. The staff were very warm and welcoming and although the place was busy managed to keep on top of everything. Would highly recommend a visit if you are nearby.

Delicious fish and chips, the cod was generously sized, the chips were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside: just perfect! Friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommended.

They have a really good customer service, they fry their fish and sausage in the same fryer, but when i said them I can’t eat sausages, they offered to cook out fish in the chips fryer. Hat’s off to them for their inclusive customer service.

This has got to be the best! We were lured up the street by the delicious smell, the dog picked up the scent too. The service was great and even the dog got a sausage (he’s going to write his own review) My fish and chips were perfect and my partner had the battered sausage and chips, we ate the lot and loved it. Thank you guys and keep up the good work, we will definitely be back.

Always brilliant but tonight the chips were exceptional. Great prices too. Feed a family of 4 for less than £15.
