The Town Fryer

We as a family sat in the chippy had our lunch . Fish and chips was brilliant. Chicken and chips and gravy and mushy peas that the husband had he enjoyed and the cost is affordable. We wouldn't use another chippy as the place is ace.

Shout out too all the ladies friendly and banter .

Let’s start by saying I’ve never seen a chippy so cheap and the price was outstandingly good!

Secondly the staff in this chippy are some of the most friendliest and helpful people I’ve met.

The slushy was like a heavenly taste and was amazing!

The chips were very good except from like a few hard ones but I really can’t complain due to the low price and the other delicious chips.

The fish was mediocre really and I have tasted better but the helpful ladies did put more fish than ordered and I thought that was such a kind gesture. The fish was definitely better than some I’ve tasted so not horrible or anything.

If any workers read this just know I did enjoy the meal and would definitely return hence the 5/5 review.

Fish and chips extremely nice and worth every penny, Staff well organised and had a good talk while waiting. Glad I followed up on the recommendation of this place as will be returning again. Well done all.

I’ve been diagnosed with coeliac disease for just over a year and have really struggled to find fish and chip places that would accommodate. I was recommended somewhere else but upon finding that place
Closed (when according to it’s opening times it should have been open) we started googling and stumbled across the town fryer. I gave them a quick call to check they could accommodate gluten free and all they asked was about 40 minutes notice to turn the separate fryer on. Sadly they did not have any batter for the fish but they made up
for it by providing beautifully fried gluten free chips and extremely tasty steamed fish. They were so apologetic for the lack of batter but I implore anyone in the same position as me to give it a try. It was such a lovely change and they were so knowledgeable and careful to avoid cross contamination. This seems to available every day and added bonus free parking is available in the street at the side of the restaurant. Plus an absolute bargain!

I've been to this chippy a few times and the food was ok but the last few times I went the food was quite greasy I didn't think much of it, but the very last time I went a while ago the fries were super greasy, they must have been undercooked I didn't enjoy eating them at all, as there was a quarter left I bitten into one of the fries and grease squirted out of it, disgusting 🤢

Whatever was left I just fed to the seagulls, I haven't been there since and I'm never going there again.

I almost didn't write this review because with them being a very small business I assumed they weren't on Google. I don't recommend it, any of the other chippies are better than this.

This little cafe is amazing. Mary and her lovely ladies are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is to much trouble. The food is delicious and great value for money. We will definitely be going again when we are in Wales.

Lovely food and very reasonable prices, two adult meals, two children's meals, a hot drink and 2 slushies for less than £20. Staff were welcoming from start to finish , friendly and chatty with the kids. Portions are very good and food was hot and delicious.

Lovely food excellent service fantastic prices will definitely come again 😀
