Good gym in terms of location and convenience. Can be very comfortable at times. However, honestly the gym is a bit small and packed at times like all gyms. I've been here 5 years+ but lately there's many changes, pt changes, and adaptions I lost motivation. Even the gym group has now changed with an awful logo and branding. The equipment is good and never really have to wait. But I can find a better environment elsewhere. Thank you the gym.

Signed up to the gym - only to find out it’s closed for the next 2 days for some maintenance work. Went in today for my first session and half of the treadmills don’t work (not sure why it was closed for maintenance then) and there’s NO air bikes at all. Fix them treadmills and bring some air bikes, I’ve seen them in all the other The Gym’s.

Also the wifi does not work. The gym is in an isolated place where you barely catch phone signal. So it’s hard if you want to watch workout tutorials or use the app barcode feature to get in an out of the gym.

Very disappointed so far, I’ve been a The Gym member for number of years and this gym has a few issues and it’s lacking equipments.

Worst gym i have ever been to in London. Machines without pins to lock the weights, dirty, rusty equipment, smell in the gym is just awful. Do not bother joining because you will be surely disappointed. What a shame that management allows everything that happens there.

I am preparing myself to compete in 2023, it took me 26 minutes to resign from this gym. I've been to gyms around the world and i have never seen it this bad. I train with the gym for years now, used to go to Stepney Green, Acton, Fulham and West Ealing. Recently moved to wembley area and chosen The Gym Alperton as my new home gym. I can't express how bad the gym is, literally, comparing to any other The Gym branches i have been too, it is really bad there. This gym costs me the same as Fulham branch and the standard of equipment, facility and lockers is below any expectations. Someone mentioned in other review that equipment is missing parts, which is true, i couldn't use around third of equipment that day i was there due to missing locking part. Equipment is dirty, rust is falling out of it, gym floor smell really bad. Maybe people got used to the smell, but i couldn't make it through the workout because of the odour. I have seen people stealing weights from each other and arguing about it. Some two blokes almost fought over bench. Group of youths occupying spaces and literally standing there and talking whilst equipment remains unused for minutes. The gym culture does not exist there. Sorry to say this, but as mentioned i am the gym client for years and had to move to Wembley Central after the first (and last) visit in Alperton.

This gym is shocking!! Nowhere near enough equipment ( half of which is broken or in dire need of repairs). Changing rooms are a disgrace. Loads of lockers broken, showers smell like urine. Unless your a 5am gym goer it's a complete waste of time and money

I’ve been going to this gym for years and all of the staff and facilities are amazing. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been their member since they started the branch in our area but it has been getting worse by the day.
The equipment and machines are not great, Showers and toilets are always dirty. Cleaning staff are nonexistent, PTs and Managers are never seen anywhere and the worst part is the parking.

I thought it’s cheap for a reason until I kept getting car park penalties.

I emailed the branch manager to assist with the issue as I clearly remember registering my car in their registration device( sometimes I enter twice just to make sure), he didn’t bother replying to my emails. But I’m guess they get a percentage of the penalties the branch generate from their members so why would they.

In short I ended up paying one year’s worth of membership in parking penalties.

If you drive to the gym I suggest you stick to gyms like virgin active Nuffield health and David Lloyds because if you take into account the parking penalties you well get your moneys worth in better clubs where their service and facilities are much better. It might even be cost effective.

I used this gym for years. Facilities at other ‘the gym groups’ and low cost gyms are way better in comparison and almost importantly maintained better. Initially the PT’s were great from back in the day (Bernard) for example but things have got worse and worse.

The parking situation is awful at busy times and when the reg machine doesn’t work you will get a ticket automatically. I moved address and got a ticket about 3 years ago, the gym manager said he’d take care of it but forgot. I then got harassment letters from UK Car Parking, and eventually escalated to a debt collector turning up at my old address and tried to file a ccj.

Nobody was helpful I’m resolving and I ended up paying the ticket off plus court costs amounting to more than the actual fine itself.
