None of the users put their weights away so the place is always a mess. The weightlifting platforms are uneven so weights roll around all over the place
The shower facilities are hard to use as there are no lockers in the changing rooms.
The worst Gym group gym I've been to. This place is terrible. Don't go.
They should replace some of the cardio machines with new power racks or cable machines.
Staff are rude and unapproachable, they never say hello, just walk around on their phones or talking to friends whilst the gym is full of people using machines incorrectly or lifting weights with dangerous form .
The classes they run are shambolic, simply shouting at customers to do things without showing them correct form or helping them. I've watched their PT sessions and most of them clearly do not care for safety or effective training.
Gym staff also do not bother to clear weights away or encourage customers to clear their weights away. Maybe a cultural thing considering the demographic of the gym goers, but I also go to other The Gym gyms and people are respectful, clear up their equipment, and keep equipment clean and sanitised. The staff here do not encourage tidiness, and often will leave weights on bars themselves - either when training solo or a PT client.
They've also removed all sanitation sprays, which is ridiculous.
The lift has been out of order for almost a year.
There are leaks in the gym so some equipment gets dripped on.
Lots of weight machines (which are of cheap quality, matrix, in the first place) are broken, have frayed wires, wobbly seats or missing pins.
The padding for deadlift platforms is inadequate and uneven, increasing the risk of injury.
The bathrooms stink.
Gym is always busy. Music is terrible and too loud.
Staff are always promoting their silly podcast (everyone has a podcast now) yet never want to actually talk to gym goers. I can't imagine they have much interesting to say, so maybe dodging a bullet there.
The gym is also often full of children. I thought the minimum age was 16 , but clearly full of kids as young as 12 or 13, who definitely haven't been inducted properly.
Overall, nothing redeeming about this gym apart from the occasional view at sunset. Staff are terrible. Equipment mediocre. Atmosphere rubbish. Better off going to the Gym group gym on Romford Road, or the PureGym nearby. Even the Anytime Fitness has better vibes!
They also block you on Instagram if you criticise them. Petty.
