Leicestershire Aero Club

My 15 year old son has started doing his PPL course with the Leicestershire Aero Club and we have been very impressed with everybody concerned. They have been exceptionally friendly and helpful and have made him (and myself and my wife) feel very welcome.

There is ample car parking space and the facilities upstairs in the bar / viewing area are excellent, they serve great food (including breakfasts) and good selection of drinks.

The planes are in great condition and well maintained and he loves flying them.

Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in taking lessons or a pleasure flight.

A nice large car park where you can park your car which is along the runway, you can watch all the 1, 2 and 4 seat planes take off. Also across the runway is the helicopter centre where sometimes 3 helicopters can be in the air at the same time! For families there is a bench so you can bring your own food and drinks and make a picnic of it 😊

Duncan was amazing. Had a flight booked as a birthday present as a surprise but I was absolutely terrified. Duncan made me feel at ease. Thanks again.

Amazing club, really proud to be a member of. They have events and activities for the members. Great bar and amazing instructors. Training here has just been excellent and my flight situation has been dealt with in the most professional manner.
Another great thing is that everyone is like a massive friendly family. If you have any questions then just ask someone and they will try and help you out. The information and wisdom you can gain is unfathomable at this place.
Non members can buy some great experience flights and enjoy the clubhouse when flying. If you aren't a member you can always enjoy the picnic area outside and watch the planes.
I will always recommend this aero club, it really is a run by members for the members club.

Today was a standard. Whipped down from Sherburn, had lunch, flew back pint on the way home - perfect day

We booked in for the scenic flight experience over Leicester. Pilot was friendly and made our first experience very enjoyable-he asked us which area we lived and even flew over and spotted our house! Would definitely recommend this experience as a gift with friends/family, it's worth every penny!
