Tapi Carpets & Floors

Visited the newport store found a carpet we liked but waited for 2 men who were completely ignoring us so we approached them in the end. They quoted nearly £700 to carpet the stairs with a cheap carpet. We told them we didn't need underlay as we already have it and they were forcing it on us. This cost wasn't including any grippers or door pieces. Poor service felt just because we were a young family we wouldnt spend much so they showed no interest

We were disappointed when our first fitting date was cancelled due to the flooring not reaching the warehouse on time...had to wait two more weeks for fitting but very pleased with the 3 fitters who carried out the work in one day instead of two.

My parents recently bought carpet from Tapi in Newport. The service from purchase to fitting was first class. They kept in touch about fitting date, were on time, very efficient and extremely helpful when fitting. The whole process was hassle free so thank you very much!

Estimator came to Property to give a price for a small red slate kitchen floor which included a small red slate step which any Estimator with common sense would have taken into consideration to be included in the fitting. When fitter turned up, he completed the floor but made it clear that he had only tiled the step as a favour ? Why wasn't this included in the estimation ? Also as it appeared the step hadn't been considered, the fitter only had a gold bar to go across the step, no other choice although I didn't expect a freeby. My kitchen is light/dark grey. The man in the show room agreed a gold one didn't match when I went in to query my concerns. I am pleased with the floor but I am not happy that it seems the step wasn't even considered and now left with a gold bar which looks awful. I was happy to pay for what I wanted and now feel totally disappointed. The Man in the showroom asked "could I change the bar myself ?!!! " No idea as I don't fit floors for a living. ? Also another issue - Both me and my husband work and it seemed impossible to secure an appropriate time for a fitter to arrive. We were told expect a call on the day but weren't notified that someone was coming until gone midday. I need other rooms tiled but from this experience won't be using Tapi Carpets again I'm afraid.

So much variety here for lots of different flooring needs & a very clean well kept shop! Friendly helpfull staff & smells beautiful inside too.

All great until fitting day came and fitters told us they can't do the job because the measurement guy, Mark, did not mention we need to level the flooring. Also, we found out from the fitters they don't have enough flooring for all the measured rooms. Because Mark did not add the living room measurements which made us sign a contract with final price thinking it's included. The fitters of course did not have free days for us and came whenever had some free windows mainly in the evening when finishing with other clients. Told us "we'll be there in the afternoon", "we'll be there by 2 PM the latest" but coming after 5 o'clock mostly and canceling twice. Which made me spend whole days in one room with the baby, not being able to go out.
Thanks for making us live like this for a full week with a 4mo baby.

Worst customer experience ever. Sat here on day of installation looking at a ripped up floor and the installers now needing another £600 for levelling that we were informed by Paul was included in the fitting price. His resolution was to cancel the order as apparently he never said it included which is a complete lie. So we either pay the extra or I’m left with a mess to live with (in picture) until I can get someone else to come out. I tried customer services and can’t get through so sent and email and will update once I receive a response. We used Tapi based on a recommendation, really feel missold to and lied to by the Paul (the manager) who must have required the sales. Disgusting techniques.
