French Consulate

Horrible service. Applied for visa and waiting 20 working days with no outcome. They said 15 working days. Very difficult to book an appointment. Availability in 2-3 months and waiting time in excess of 1 month. And you can only apply 3 months ahead of the planned trip. So their system does not work at all. I will never apply again

Extremely poor service. Impossible to get an appointment online to renew my passport. The booking system is not working properly and inefficient. When I call nobody is answering the phone. Only a voice message, that repeats itself. I emailed and only got a useless reply that repeats word for word what is on the website. Not helpful.
I have now to go to France to renew my passeport. I can't wait any longer. Extra costs. Shocking.

Impossible to book an appointment to renew my passport. Despite checking every day at recommended times, there is never any appointments available. I don't have any other nationality so how I travel back home or travel anywhere??? Shocking system!!!

I have a planned trip to Paris and submitted my application 16 days before my flight, I booked the visa appointment months ago but this is the earliest appointment I could get from them, they did not manage to finish processing my visa wothin 2 weeks and they now said it could take longer than 2 weeks. I e-mailed them to see if they could just check my application as my travel date is approaching and my booking is non-refundable but they have no mercy, they did not listen. I missed my travel and lost everything I've paid with my hard earned money.

I would need my passport for an important application now and asked them again to please complete it as I need my passport urgently, instead they want me to comfirm they will not refund me anything and will send my passport without visa decision.

They have been keeping my passport for almost 3 weeks now yet they never got to see it nor make any decision. I have the misfortune of having to apply a visa thru them because I want to visit their country. Other embassies would at least have a bit of consideration, unlike this one who have none at all.

I must say such lovely staff at the French consulate! I redid my passport recently and was greeted by Johan who was just so nice and helpful and smiley! Very nice experience! Thank you 🙏

I realise that a lot of people seem to have negative experiences from the comments below but every time I've gone to the embassy for the past 30 years it has gotten better and better.

I managed to get an appointment the same day, didn't need to create an account or login. It was pretty straight forward.
The documents required were a lot simpler then in the past, they have made it really easy, the lady that took my appointment was very polite and dealt with my appointment quickly and courteously. They answered any questions that I had, I waited no longer then a few minutes in the waiting room for both the appointment and the payment. The whole process took around 15 ( 20 max ) minutes ( for ID and Passport).

There were also staff of many different backgrounds which was nice to see. Everyone was polite and helpful.

I would leave 0 stars if I could and am shocked at the incompetence of this office. Submitted my profession liberale/entrepreneur visa application on the 30th of November with all the hefty set of documents requested that took me months to put together. No response received a month later despite advertised processing window of 15 days
On chasing the consulate I received a response today saying they had emailed me on the 1st of December asking for further documents which I never received having trawled through my emails and spam comprehensively. No apologies received from the consulate officials for wasting one month of my time or for their sheer incompetence. Unbelievable abuse of power!

They don’t even have a reception. When emergency occurs, they just ask you to go home and send email s to an email address which never replies. Such a decent and easy job.
