Goodees Fish And Chips

I've been using goodees since I was in college going back 15yrs... The original owners were amazing and their portions justified their prices (which weren't over the top)
They retired 2017, a new owner reopened the famous chippy of Newcastle back up, the new owner has been really good...
I decided tonight during the England world cup semi final I was to have a good Ol'fashioned fish and chip supper.
I was served by a young lad and a woman I'd never seen in there before, they had never heard of a chip bap or knew what it was despite it on the menu, along with my chip bap I ordered a regular fish and a regular chips - the regular fish has cost me £3 for what I would call a mini fish and the chips well £1.90 for about 2 hand fulls of that of chips....
I will not be returning

DO NOT ORDER!! we received the food and the quality is terrible and inedible, it is dripping in oil I have never had food this bad before. completely unacceptable. 1 star is too generous

My favourite for fish and chips in Newcastle Under Lyme. Fair size cod and good value for money!

I thought would try this plave as i walk past alot its smells nice at dinner time. So i ordered first of all the top of the pudding was solid and the filling was slightly warm. The sausage was over cooked on the skin like mush inside. The mushy peas tasted like vinegar was added to it and the gravy had never seen a whisk it was mostly lumps. The majority of the chips were hard bits inedible sure the food has been sitting there since yesterday dinner. I dont usually leave reviews but i tried to sort it online with there chat and you go in circles.

I thought I'd give goodees another chance with it been even newer owners than the last time.
Safe to say I am just as disappointed.
I ordered a Donner meat only LARGE
paid £4.90 for this and the portion size is that of a small, even one that a child would demolish in seconds.... Not only this BUT the meat is frozen, not fresh.
I shall not be using again.

Brilliant and polite service.
Very reasonably priced.
Cracking food.
But the size of the fish is spectacular.
Ever likely its been open since 1963.

I,ve only being twice both times batter under cooked on fish,peas hard.£18.00 for 2 fish,chips,peas ...go up the road get the same for £15.00 slightly overpriced

Not bad, portion sizes are quiet small tho compared to other local chip shops
