Taylor and Wallis were the funeral directors for both our mother and father's funerals this year. As a family we were so pleased that they dealt with all the arrangements. The empathy, dignity and professional service they provided was absolutely first class. Val and Ian especially were so genuine and made a difficult period for us so much more easier. The service they arranged was planned and executed with precision. The order of service, the liaison with the wonderful Reverend Ian Meridith, selection of music, the flower arrangement, high quality cars and the punctuality was a credit to them. Recently there have been other funeral directors who have set up business in Portchester. Taylor and Wallis are the oldest established company and we would only use their services as we know them to be trustworthy and professional.

Our family have used Taylor and Wallis for every arrangement we have needed to do, exceptional service from a family run independent director. Highly recommend over the other larger director groups, the family independent touch adds a level of care you would not otherwise find.
We have needed to arrange the passing of my father in the last month, the Taylor and Wallis experience from collecting him at the hospital, to looking after him until burial cannot be faulted. Having lost a treasured family member, I cannot thank the team and Taylor and Wallis for their kindness and support over the last few weeks, whilst making the arrangements for our family funeral. Their guidance and support has been nothing short of exceptional. The whole experience was beautifully managed with empathy and practicality. We even managed a few laughs! when needed we would definitely use the team again ( but hopefully not too soon!). Ian, Val, Claire & the rest of the team couldn’t have been more professional , friendly and helpful in arranging our parents funeral - nothing was too much trouble and all our wishes were accommodated.
From taking care of dad within 30 minutes of calling with so much empathy to then collecting mum from the hospital so that they could again be together right through to the funeral day itself , was perfect. When our parents arrived at their home for the last time side by side in the beautiful silver hearse surrounded by flowers - it really took our breath away.

Ian guided us through and chose the perfect celebrant , Dawn - who we immediately bonded with. Dawn was exceptional both before and during the service and we had so many friends and family who couldn’t praise her and the service highly enough.
