W. Uden & Sons Family Funeral Directors Dulwich

We used W. Uden & Sons for my mum's funeral as we had been given good reviews by other people in the past. I was not disappointed. Professional top service from all parties. From the day we informed them that mum had passed to the day of the funeral itself, we were treated with respect and dignity. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone if they are looking for the best.

I am very satisfied with the services W Uden & Sons provided for my husband's funeral in December 2019. Everything went smoothly and the Thanksgiving Service at Honor Oak Crematorium was a moving tribute. All of Uden's staff were kind and courteous and I would thoroughly recommend them

I have used W.Uden & Sons for three family funerals. They have always been completely professional and extremely understanding. Arranging a funeral is always a difficult and emotional process and I have always felt very well looked after. The services offered on the day of the funeral are excellent and the team are extremely respectful.

W.Uden and sons were fantastic. We had to re-arrange funeral dates on 3 different occasions and they were professional each time and understood and cared each time . The service went well, staff made you feel at ease in distressing times. Thank you for such a great service.

On the day, Adrian and Sam were reassuring, kindly and attentive. The procedures were carried out with dignity and reverence but were not over heavy in a way that would have lessened the sense of its being a family occasion.

Prior to the day of the funeral, the manner of everyone we had contact with at Udens was always respectful and charming without being obsequious. Everything was explained clearly and all the organization and responses to our questions were done promptly and efficiently.

The service was lovely. Before the funeral I was distressed and unhappy but thanks to you and Reverend Steve I now feel sad but calm.

The only criticism that I have was that I would have liked to have been one of the pall bearers. I understand that there are probably legal reasons but, with covid and the fact that most of the attendees were elderly and travelling from many different places, it was impossible to organize that the family carried the coffin. I think that Udens could investigate the possibility of 1 or 2 family members supplementing the professional pall bearers in a way that doesn’t affect the security of the coffin and the congregation when it’s being carried.

My Brother and I were very impressed with the professional way that Chris and the rest of the staff handled our Father’s recent Funeral.
They were sympathetic and courteous throughout the whole process.
A special thank you to Sophie who had to deal with a rather unpleasant person, she dealt with the situation perfectly!

After losing someone close, making funeral arrangements is one of the most difficult and daunting times we all face at some time in our life.

However, if I could give W. Uden & Sons 10 stars I would. Right from the very start they were highly professional yet compassionate, whilst also outlining and covering everything clearly during the meeting. The communication in the weeks leading up to the day was also exceptional.

The day itself couldn't have gone any better. The level of service and professionalism was second to none throughout, of which my late grandfather would have been very proud. Literally, every detail, however small, was thought of and taken care of and they clearly do treat it as though they are looking after one of their own family.

Therefore I cannot commend Chris at Camberwell and Spencer ( the Conductor on the day) enough for the effort they both put in. Exceptional true gentlemen.

When the time sadly comes again, I can honestly say I would not hesitate in using anyone else but W. Uden & Sons.

Very professional and friendly. Booked my Dad's funeral with them and they were very helpful and caring. They made arrangements for the care of my Dad from hospital to their Camberwell Branch. They advised me of everything I needed to do. The day before funeral the lead director dealing with the arrangements phoned me to introduce himself and told me what time he would be arriving with Dad, he checked if we had flowers for the hearse at our house so he could arrange extra time to place them on hearse and displayed nicely. On arrival at the Crematorium he made sure everyone had a order of service. They treated the coffin with the greatest respect. The hearse and 2nd two limousines were immaculate and the staff from Uden's were smart and professional. Also used Uden's a few years ago for my mum's funeral. Would highly recommend.
