Harmony Asian Funeral Directors - Wolverhampton

We recently used the services of Harmony at their branch in Wolverhampton following the sudden death of our mother. The staff were caring, understanding and provided a lot of support throughout the funeral arrangements. However be aware of hidden charges for extras which we were not told about at the outset and the price we were initially quoted was different to the final invoice. We would suggest getting a written quote on the day you contact them.
Moreover and rather worryingly was a day when the family arranged to go and see our mother in the chapel of rest prior to the funeral. To our shock and horror the room where she had been laid to rest in, had no curtain or blackout at the window ! which meant members of the public (including school children) were able to view our mother, as they walked passed the funeral parlour. And god only knows how long prior to our arrival her body was on view to the members of the public. It is even more worrying that the person who had arranged the viewing and placed our mother in the said room had not given any thought or consideration as to the lack of privacy!!
We found the whole scenario to be extremely intrusive, lacking in respect and dignity to our deceased mother.
When we raised the issue of the lack of privacy in the particular room concerned, we were told this was because the parlour had recently been refurbished. Sorry that is not good enough as part of the refursbishment process surely this would of been of utmost importance! Needless to say after we raised this with the company, the following day a blind had been hastily put up in the said room.

Following on from this post , we were contacted by the Director at Harmony on the 26th September, he agreed we had been overcharged. He apologised for the oversight and agreed to pay us a refund by way of cheque. The cheque was hand delivered to our home address by Friday 28th September. Just wanted to say that it was good of the funeral directors to acknowledge we had been overcharged. And for those of you who are using services such as these it pays to leave a review because if we hadn't posted a review the director wouldn't have picked up their mistake.

Provided a huge amount of support for me and my family during a very hard time. Highly professional and approachable staff (Manny and Mira). The funeral went very smoothly and it was the perfect send off for my father. If you are reading this, I am truly sorry for your loss.

During these uncertain times, Harmony have gone above and beyond to help my dad have the best send off. They kept us well informed and up to date, while allowing us to do as much as we could in the traditional sense. Everything was handled with care and sensitivity and the funeral went off really well. Greg and Jas were so helpful in explaining all the procedures and getting everything sorted for us. Even following the funeral they provided helpful information regarding the Ashes and protocol to follow if we need to take them abroad. Thank you to you both and your entire team for your help through this difficult time for my family.

Excellent Service & help from Jas & his team at a very difficult time, from the moment we called them, they attended, advised & accommodated to the very needs & rituals for a sikh funeral, arrangments were hindered with the impact of Covid-19, however the team went through every hurdle & gave us guidance from handling the Dr's report, Coroners review, Death Registration, Flowers, Webcast & Crematorium Service, a warmth feeling to the Asian Community out there, that a loved one can be cared for with dignity & respect.

The service provided by Jas and his team from the offset is nothing less than exceptional. Their companion, empathy and professionalism really helped us through a dark time, I only spoke with Jas the office manager this morning thanking him personally for his guidance, genuine care and attention he provided to myself and my family. We felt it wasn't just a business and cashing in so to speak but a a real heart felt service which for us is priceless. Love and respect!!!

The company is clearly orientated towards providing all the needs of the deceased's family and friends, in a highly professional, sensitive, and compassionate manner. However, the person who I dealt with, going by the name of Jas, went over and beyond of what I could have ever expected. He was available to me round the clock on his mobile for advice and guidance, he came to my house to make suggestions on how to direct guests and where to place the coffin, he had full knowledge of local churches and temples, he provided me with full details of which crematoriums were available and what their individual covid restrictions were. He was prepared to open up facilities 24/7 depending upon my needs. He was present to assist with the wash and dress procedure and knew clearly what rites and traditions are followed by the culture I descend from and was able to advise appropriately. All manner of options were available for coffins, memorials and tributes. He provided advice on how and where to scatter the cremation ashes. I didn't have to look up or research anything; all advice and guidance came from Jas and the company. In my time of extreme grief, I did not have to make any arrangements for the funeral, indeed I felt totally incapable of doing so; I just had to choose the funeral directors. In the end, I insisted that the company provide me with Jas' services on the day of the funeral, and we were honoured that he lead the funeral procession in such a dignified manner. I highly recommend Jas and his company.
