Tracey and rest of staff all lovely.
Thoughtfull layout and ease of accessibility.
Top notch
It's well laid out, with a beautiful variety of decor and plants to choose. Inside the store you'll find outdoor furniture, decorations, BBQ equipment, gardening tools, fertilizers, seeds, things like candy and scented candles, decorative vases, outdoor lighting... Right next to that is a smaller section selling clothing articles.
There is a cafe and they serve traditional English tea, which I haven't tried yet so can't comment but I will update the review once I do so. It always seems to be busy which is a good sign.
Outside, a myriad plants, flowers, paving slabs, water features, and more to choose from. Helpful staff too that was happy to provide advice about what would work well for my garden.
At the back there is a Maidenhead Aquatics store that I reviewed separately.
This is a lovely establishment to visit with lots of variety to see. It's my choice for gardening needs and I don't see it changing.
The only negative I should mention is that I often have to stay on the line for checking out quite often. I think checkout should be straightforward, fast and staffed appropriately but I experienced on several occasions the tills being empty with staff standing around while customers were waiting to pay - not very smart...
The food in the cafe is nice but service is slow and not always very friendly - there are one or two staff who clearly just do not like their jobs and are unhelpful and miserable looking. However, to be fair, there are good and bad days so it's not somewhere I avoid, I just don't see it as a reason to go there as it is with other garden centres.
Lovely service elsewhere through the garden centre anad overall a nice place to spend an hour or so.
On our last visit with our six year old granddaughter, a very realistic Santa Claus was there wandering around and greeting everyone. My granddaughter was so pleased and had a lovely chat with him!
