Booked my second hand ride on lawn mower in for a service for £180.00

Also agreed collection and redelivery for a small fee of around £20.

Week later have a telephone conversation with the owner (dad) explaining that he had to change the brakes and cable etc and the bill is £346 (you didn’t have to change anything it’s not LAW) you give the customer a call and ask and advise not do it then hit them with a bill.

This company lacks communication and the father lacks respect and courtesy when dealing with customers

I queried this with the son (owner) some days later as my ride on is worth around £300 second hand.

I also explained that I should have had a call and given me the customer the option to get my brakes done with them or I could have even done them myself.

Similar to when you take your car or van for an mot - if it fails the garage will phone you and give you that options for actually communicates.

The son and I agreed £265 eventually although I’ve got to be honest was reluctant to even pay that.

To give this company an idea of your charges -

I had my Mercedes Vito Van serviced for £135 this month £50 cheaper than your lawn mower service without the added extras.

The father upon delivery had a very strong attitude and couldn’t see my point at all and was very very rude saying he doesn’t even want my custom anymore

Well guys - I won’t be back for sure and if you keep up your awful communication and overpricing can’t see you lasting.

There is a company in Brecon doing a service for £100.00 and upon speaking with they have confirmed they do phone them customer first prior to completing any works which was not initially agreed.

I’ll be visiting this other company from now on.

Always an excellent service. Efficient with clear explanations. I have taken my chainsaw and strimmer there in a regular basis for many years and I have always been very pleased. Great to see a successful family business

Just had my ride on Stiga serviced with D Williams and Son . The mower is now running 🏃‍♂️ perfect. Better than when i first bought it .

Bought machines from the Williams family for over 40years. Always quality service and help with advice when ever needed. Will continue to be a customer of theirs.
