Gas Mark 1

Had a shower pump replaced at a reasonable cost. A very professional job by Dean, the engineer and timely after install service by Gas Mark 1. Will definitely use them again

31st May 2019 : Had a thermostatic shower cartridge replaced today. Paul did a fantastic job with his many years of experience coming in to play. I thought it was going to be a tough job taking the square shower knob off, with the right tools he did with ease. Thanks Paul and Gas Mark 1 for the professionalism

Recently had a vaillant combi boiler fitted by Gas Mark 1. Couldn't fault them on anything. From first getting a quote (which was extremely reasonable) to installation all concerned were very professional and friendly. Wouldn't hesitate in using them again and thoroughly recommend.

GM1 has replaced, my chunky old Potterton Power Max boiler which had built in tank, with a latest Vailliant boiler with unvented cylinder. They won the job by giving best quote, started and finished the job as promised on time. They were recommended by a friend, as a genuine professional company with very good reputation. The work they did was not easy and even big companies were afraid of taking the job, local plumbers refused to take the job because the area was too tight for them to work and due to height. The engineer Carl (gas safe registered) is very knowledgeable and polite, he made sure we didn't have to live without hot water any night with very little disruption throughout. Job was done neatly and the house was left clean and tidy. It's been 2 weeks and everything is running perfectly fine. Thank you Gas Mark 1 team you all are brilliant, keep up the work. Vikas

Tom and Tom came and fitted a new water main from one side of my house to the other as main under floor was leaking.
They are both very polite very clean and tidy and left my home as they found it.
Carpets up in bedrooms and put back down no problems.
And work to government guide lines masks ex.
Very happy and would and have recommended to others.

Used GM1 for a big job at my place of work. Came and did a free quote and put in the most reasonable price out of four. Pleased with the work. Therefore when my mum urgently needed something fixed for my disabled brothers annex, I immediately recommend Gas Mark One as I knew they wouldn't rip her off. I was very wrong.

The heating system needed a replacement part, she knew exactly what was wrong with it because it had broken before. She called Gas Mark One and said this is broken could you give me a quote for how much this will be to fix? The man said he will come out. He came out to the property, was there for literally 2 minutes and informed her of what she already knew, that that part needed replacing. He then gave her a card machine and charged her £85 for a 'call out charge' to tell her what she had called them for in the first place. He then said he will send a quote for the work.

They were unaware at this point that this customer was my mum and they had just carried out a big job for me as a business, where they came in cheapest and did not charge to do a quote/call out at all. Very angry about this, I contacted Toni and he said he will take some money off the quote when she receives it. She received the quote two days later for over £400 plus the £85 she had needlessly paid. I didn't even bother asking for the reduction promised as I knew this was not what it cost to fix seen as we have had it fixed before.

Low and behold we used a different plumber who asked for a couple of photos, was round 2 days later with the part needed, did the work and charged £80 for the whole lot!

I felt awful that I had recommended this company based on business experience with them and they went and took advantage of an older lady and ripped her off. Never got the money back, and will never use again for business or personal. They treat businesses with bigger money jobs very different to a lone older woman. What makes it worse is when I first recommended them, my mother's response was oh no they were in the paper for ripping off older people. I said must have changed hands because they were very reasonable!

I would avoid if you don't want to be ripped off. The only way they could have resolved this was to refund her the obvious rip of 'call out charge' but they wouldn't even do that sadly.

Can’t thank Gas Mark 1 enough for their help and great service. I had an issue with my toilet flush and they arranged an engineer to attend the next day. They got the flush sorted for me for a really reasonable charge. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Thank you for the engineers visit today. We had a leaking radiator which the engineer quickly solved for us. This is why we have been longstanding loyal customers. Have recommended Gas Mark 1 to friends and neighbours and will continue to do so. Thank you.

I needed a new hob and was limited by size. I called 4 companies and they only wanted to refit the kitchen. Gas Mark1 were excellent from start to finish. They told me exactly what they would do to resolve my needs and the work which was completed yesterday was excellent. The electrician/gas specialist and fitter were top guys.
I paid them and they well deserved the business. My sincere thanks!!
