Asda Self Service Filling Station

Self service is good but if any of the pumps are out order it should be labelled as such. The disabled pump was out of order but there was no label to say so. Time was wasted putting your card in and keying your number and being charged £1 and no gas. You then move to the next pump after queueing up.

The first pump I pulled up to (on the lefthand side) had a screen that wasn't working at all, rendering the pump completely useless. Having never been there, it was hard to understand at first what was going on.

I waited until the 3rd pump was free (the 2nd was occupied) and pulled up there. After inserting my card and being prompted to fill up, no petrol came out... Eventually the screen timed out and I returned the pump back to the holder. No indication that anything was wrong, but after 3 more tries, I gave up and had to back in the wrong direction on the other side, where I was able to finally fill up.

Meanwhile, a long line of cars piled up behind me as others discovered the same issues with the other two pumps. Probably the most stressful time I've ever had at a filling station.

Very popular filling station and with it being a self service one it's usually quick to fill up unless you have a plonker that is day dreaming and takes the whole day to move off...

Brill place, gr8 value 4 Yr £££, open l8... I can't complain.. Only thing missing is some kind of reward system 4customers & collection points like everywhere else...

You won't get a VAT receipt! There is literally never any paper loaded. Takes 15 minutes to get one from surly staff inside the supermarket.

Update 28th Sep 2021. Petrol panic.

It is absolutely chaos right now. One of few Petrol stations to have fuel still. It is manic. From old Kent Road, you will be waiting for 1 hour or more. Tempers flare as people cut the queue! Absolutely nuts!

Only two pumps working on left side when attended. Had to wait for the left side. There are 6 pumps in total. Sometimes you go there and it is empty and sometimes you have to wait. I always hear air bubbles flowing through the pipe but this is probably normal. Generally no issue. Sometimes there is no receipt paper but that is a minor issue. Price is low compared to the bigger brands.

Asda is around the corner so can shop.

There is a space to inflate your tires. Guessing it cost 50p?

You select your pump and pay at the pump, collect your receipt, and go. However, if there is a problem, you can print your ticket at another pump, and if that fails, customer service can sort that out for you.
