Central Co-op Food, Petrol & Insomnia Cafe - Boley Park

Would've been more than 3 stars but was let down by its customer service at the co-op, there is always a quality deal to be had at the co op but when I attended I had to work hard for it - there was a 5 items for 5 pounds in the frozen section but unfortunately didn't have all the items - took an extra pizza to the checkout to make it 5 items and Rachel who i can only describe as lazy, rude and unhelpful didn't help the situation - she put everything through the till and it tallied up to around 16 pounds due to the extra pizza when I had 5 items, was then told that it had to be 1 of each of the 5 items on the sign which was understandable. After explaining that 1 of the 5 items listed wasn't available I was still told to "go back and look properly and take the extra pizza back with you".
I have never been told once by any member of staff at a shop to go and put something back for them and this infuriated me from the way I was told to "look properly" and put something back when it isn't my job, went back to look for the item which would complete the 5 for 5 deal but the item definitely wasn't there, went back and told Rachel that the item wasn't there and still she wouldn't allow me a replacement item - even told her to go up and look herself if she didn't believe me but she didn't and remained adiment that I would have to pay and not use the deal! a simple 5 minute shop turned to a 25 minute waste of time. Eventually a lovely lady working at kiosk was more understanding of the situation and said to take another item out the freezer from the deal and she put it through herself as the 5 for 5 deal which i attempted to do the first time. The kiosk member of staff earned the 3 stars alone with no help from her colleague Rachel (unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the staff member who helped me as it was a little while ago) ⭐⭐⭐

Very helpful and polite staff. Always feel like they can't do enough. Pleasing atmosphere while shopping there.

L In my opinion the co-op is expensive and offers a limited choice but it's immaculate, does offer most things you need or has a suitable replacement

A quiet uncrowded place to shop. Only E10 available at the petrol station. Store prices are reasonable but not the cheapest

Came here for coop training, absolutely beautiful store, perfectly faced, unreal. Well done to all the colleagues who work here!
