Nice atmosphere with really pleasant staff. The food was presented well but was cool hence the cream has skinned over. Good sized meal with a good selection of wines and desserts too.

A very busy pub (needs booking ahead!) But one that had great food and fast friendly service from the staff. Had a vegetable soup to start and the Sunday chicken roast followed by chocolate brownie as per the photos.

Had the tiniest little table but hey, this is England and quaint is the order of the day. Great service and friendly smiles. The barman was more than prepared to make a drink he'd never heard of - thank you for this. Excellent Sunday roast. Meat was so tender. Biggest yorkshire pud I'd ever seen. Cannot wait to come back and visit from South Africa.

The food is great. It's a lovely spot. The management is great. The staff is friendly - but always new. So go with a bit of patience and understanding and it will be fine. Great even. My pie was actually so good, I am getting hungry thinking about it again.

Great restaurant offering delicious menu, all cooked fresh & beautifully presented. Both starters already sampled were simply divine; Breaded Calamari / King Prawn & Scallop Wellington (seafood served on delicate layer of spinach, encased in artisanal pastry), served on a rich creamy white wine sauce. Equally, both mains sampled during last 2 weeks also met expectation; Lamb rump served with minted peas, pea purée & chorizo (delicately cubed), potato Dauphinois & jug of intensely rich, reduced gravy / Sri Lankan Curry, Rice, artisanal Naan Bread & Mango Chutney. Would've love to try a dessert although was simply too full. (For me, the latter could've been hotter (spice-wise not temperature as all food served was piping hot as it should be), however appreciate curry is made to suit all tastes & some customers would not tolerate a spicier heat. Staff very friendly, polite & obliging. Very popular restaurant so booking recommended. Restaurant entrance has steps, so unless there's another entrance, main entrance is not accessible for wheelchair users.

Vitiated with a friend who loves it here. Unfortunately opted in for the moules and I couldn’t eat it. First mouthful popped with cold fishy water 🫣. Not for me. Ended up just eating the chips, overly disappointed. The starter and deserts were nice and the salad looked nice.

Popular local pub which feels more like a pricey restaurant. It also has a small garden with outdoor seating under cover. The food menu has plenty of options for mainly traditional pub dishes. We enjoyed our burgers, chicken and beef and also liked the shepherd's pie. Everything was tasty and nicely presented. The service was friendly and helpful. They only have two lagers and a couple of ales on draft so it's a bit of a limited selection for a pub. I also felt that the food prices were a bit higher than expected, a couple of pounds less on a price of a main dish would have been perfect in my view.

Visited as a group of 4 and a dog without booking. Received a warm welcome and sat in an outdoor heated booth. Great choice of food and 3 of us had a roast. Absolutely delicious with lovely vegetables. Service was attentive, would definitely recommend.
