If you fancy a pint in Notting Hill, you could do yourself a favour and visit the Hillgate. A simple airy backstreet pub in the heart of the village. Close to the underground, Mr Google knows where it is! Fine beers and very family friendly. The staff are a good team and serve you well. A good place for a beer.

Very good local pub with nice staff and all around good food (special mention for the fish and chips, not too greasy, well cooked) Very nice outdoor seating arrangements too. Only downside would be that they could use a larger/more interesting beer selection. Other than that, would recommend and will definitely be back on a regular basis.

It very nice pub, great selection of drinks, a little overpriced,and portion sizes are not standard. But the staff are really welcoming, and give a positive vibe. If I do go here again it would be for the easy access and staff and not the overpriced drinks.

Really nice pub! Especially Rafael was a very friendly waiter - his martinis were so amazing!! We would love to come back if Rafael will serve us martinis again

The Hilgate is a lovely and lively place. Slightly hidden but still may be quite busy. Great food and nice selection of drinks. Excellent service.

Thank you for helping me host a great Christmas party for my guests! We had a great area near the bar with a mix of seats/standing area. Thanks to Jono for helping me book and answering all my questions, and to Rafael who was there on the night and made huge efforts to accommodate us in every way! Rafael treated us like we were his own personal guests, and it was well noticed by all members of my group. My guests and I really appreciated it and I will definitely be back soon.

It was our first time visiting this pub, lovely ambiance and great service. Food was good, albeit burger’s size rather to the small end. Risotto with mushrooms was tasty and a big portion. Nevertheless, the policy they have with the card is a reason to refrain from visiting them again. It’s a bit insulting to keep your card for “security reasons” as the waiter told us; I understand there might have been incidents in the past of people taking off without paying, but we’re not all the customers the same. We didn’t appreciate this behavior and it’s sad as we were a group of 7 people, we had soft drinks, beers, 3 bottles of wine, main course and a few desserts. In another circumstances, we would definitely go back but we don’t think we’ll go there again if they maintain the policy of keeping your card.

Booked a Christmas dinner for 5 a week before. Our table wasn’t ready on arrival. The food was tasty but the service very poor. I am done- never coming back. Shame I always thought The Hillgate was a nice pub, I am done. Never again.
