and the lie about having fixed a new time
without informing me. Avoid there is better I will change as soon as I find another one. Very unprofessional. I hope they sort their booking system out. Just a waste of time.
Surprised surprised same receptionist arranged an appointment for me with a PARAMEDIC instead of a doctor at Castle Hill surgery in New Addington!!!! I By then I was feeling frustrated treated by such a nasty receptionist. Nobody would believe how bad the service is unless you are their parients. I had registered at this practice for over four decades!! I had given over 40 years NHS service at various hospitals in London.
I have never ever seen anything like this.
This practice does not deserve even one star!
Since joining the practice at the start of the year, there has been problem after problem. When I initially applied to the surgery, they clearly had a mix up with the phone numbers. I had asked them to call me on several occasions but received no phone calls, despite the doctors claiming they had called me on several occasions. I asked them to confirm my phone number and the lady at reception gave me a completely unknown number which didn’t belong to me or any of my family, so I knew there had been a mix up. As you can imagine this concerned me because it could have resulted in a breach of confidentiality, so I asked them to fix it right away. During this period of not seeing the GP, my condition worsened too.
Every time after this when I did get to see the GP, she was extremely rushed and seemed to not care about about anything I had to say. She spoke over me and seemed as though she was trying to desperately get rid of me even though the phone consultations always lasted less than 10 minutes. It really put me off calling for a while, even though when I do call it is because I have a serious concern about my health.
Lastly, about 2 weeks ago I was using the new online consultation form every morning to get a doctor to call me. They have a section where it asks what time you prefer to be called, to which I always specified AFTER 5PM. Clearly they couldn’t be bothered to read this because I kept getting phone calls during the day when I was unable to answer. I called the reception desk and asked them for an explanation and the lady’s response was just that “they don’t scroll that far down the form” and that I should try and call a GP hub instead. This infuriated me because I should have the right to see my doctor!!! Just because my own GP can’t be bothered to do their job properly doesn’t mean I have to go out of my way to search for help elsewhere!!
Immediately after that I signed up to another surgery which had a much better rating and I’m already being treated more professionally.
Moral of the story is DO NOT SIGN UP TO A GP PRACTICE JUST BECAUSE IT’S THE CLOSEST ONE TO YOU!!! Look for one which has good reviews with doctors that actually care about your health and receptions that aren’t too scared to tell the GPs to do their jobs properly!!!!
I sort of let that go but yesterday I called surgery and explained I was in eye pain and receptionist took details and said doctor will call back at some point today.
I missed the call as I took pain relieving tablets and fell asleep, woke up to a message but surgery was then closed.
Called the next day being Friday and was told by receptionist that you will now have to call back Monday as I missed the doctors call.
No concern for my eyes whatsoever.
