Llanyravon Surgery

Jan has been my doctor and my parents doctor for years. She has always done us proud and tries to treat patients as friends over strangers. My mother was I'll for many years and the surgery always did her proud.

I was absolutely amazed today, My Mum has stage 4 cancer, and Dr Hughes called around when I was visiting with my son. He called around personally just to see how she was. He had no idea that the cancer had spread, after my Mum had a spell in hospital. He was quite upset that she had fallen so ill over a short space of time. From the conversation I had later, this Doctor can only be described as extra ordinary. I have never heard or experienced this personal care and concern ever. This is like something you would here about many years ago. What a lovely human being.

I had the 2nd part of my dvla medical here, Dr Hughes was great, but when it came time to post the details back to dvla it took over 2 weeks, because & I quote, she was on holiday, I subsequently missed my theory test date as dvla can't return my license in time as take 3 weeks from date they receive details from GP & they still haven't now over 3 weeks since medical date of the 10th June. Thank u so much..

Spoke to Diane this morning re blood test and prescription . Diane was extremely pleasant and helpful. A pleasure to talk to .

The staff here have been superb to me and that is all of them. I have many Scottish friends and if you don't often hear the accent it can sound harsh, all the words spoken however have always been kind and caring and I don't personally know this lovely lady. I have had to come into the surgery 4 times and all of the reception staff, nurses and doctors have been great. I cant imagine the stress these poor people have been under the last 18 months. While we were all in lockdown at home they were working, risking their lives for us.

I have to say I recently moved from Trosnant lodge surgery in pontypool (who were more than difficult regularly) but I cannot tell you how kind, thoughtful and helpful the staff has been at this surgery. From the very helpful receptionist to the doctor who changed medications and sorted a prescription out for me ASAP. Honestly I am so grateful, and it’s a huge jump from my previous very difficult, uncaring and rude experience with my last doctor’s surgery.

I have to say the Scottish lady that has been publicly tarred . Dianne has ALWAYS bent over backwards for me and my family. I can’t believe that people can be so unkind to members of staff that have supported our NHS throughout the whole pandemic and let me tell you Dianne has been there through out . I’ve been sat in Llanaravon surgery many times when patients have been so rude to members of staff . It’s not our given right to treat members of staff like that. I for one want to thank you so much Di for all your support for the last 4 years. Through my horrible times. I will say one thing if someone had been rude to me on the phone I’d know their name not just their nationality????? Thank you so much Di x

Worst doctors I've ever encountered the lady at receptionist is so rude it's unbelievable been on phone twice crying to doctors about being suicidal and they tell me nothing they can do.. also I've rang up 5 times after a operation doctor requested me to contact him urgently so I have tryed ringing 5 times for everytime the receptionist said he will ring me back this afternoon I said are you sure as he said this a previous 2 times lady said yes but he never did exactly same for the next 2 times I rang
