The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club

Stayed here in the hotel for a wedding recently, room was well presented with all the usual amenities. Could have been slightly cleaner (dusty in places and the kettle/glasses needed a good wash before use) but overall a nice stay. The restaurant downstairs served a good breakfast and dinner. Considering the weather the greens are in great condition on both courses. Fairways are bone dry. Hotel is excellent with very good rooms and I have given it 5 stars because it represents great value for money. Service was warm and friendly with only the food a little under par. Still great value though.

Two enjoyable courses. Championship greens very slick.
Nice clubhouse, food good, prices reasonable. Two buts are breakfast was shaved to the minimum, not a pastry in sight , no toaster, no fruit one morning. The staff seem very young and lack training.

We were a large group for a 2 round golf break, dinner, bed and breakfast. 2 great courses with some challengingly fast greens, lovely food, bar staff seemed to struggle a couple of times but were all friendly. Sausage rolls at the half way house were legendary.

Lakeview restaurant does a first class Sunday carvery. Highly recommended. Amazing selection of perfectly cooked roast meats and nice veg. Friendly service too. Best carvery around locally. Have visited several times. Great value at £17.50 for 2 courses.

Both courses in really good condition. staff are excellent. friendly and helpful. We had a 3 night stay. food and bar very good. rooms quite acceptable, clean and tidy. plenty parking spaces. Will definitely return.

They truly are praiseworthy for the way they valued their customers. Everything was very much attractive. The carpet, curtains hanging down and the room were super tidy. My expectation exceeded this price. Really great.

Stayed the night here in December. The customer service from reception was lovely, they’re very helpful. I want to credit Jack, the younger employee on the front desk, he is super polite and lovely to talk to. He helped me and my partner so much and made us feel very comfortable. The room we stayed in was called ‘Maze’ it was beautiful, so clean and comfy. The rooms here are exceptional. We stayed in an executive suit. The bathrooms have heated flooring, and huge waterfall showers. The bed is enormous and very comfy. The view of the golf course is great, very scenic especially with all the frost! The bar staff are sweet; however the kitchen staff I cannot credit so kindly. We waited 1 hour to be told they had ran out of burgers, and we ordered focaccia bread which they didn’t bring out either? Why was that so hard? They weren’t even busy. Pretty poor. We were about to go to an event so had no time to order any food due to their mistake. Plus it didn’t help the kitchen staff member who told us about it did not seem to give a single damn. We demanded a refund promptly. The next morning we had their buffet breakfast at around £8 a head which was delicious. The morning kitchen staff were much more well mannered and tended to us well. It’s a shame how one poorly trained staff member can affect a review but that’s how it is I’m afraid. Overall it would’ve been 5 stars if I didn’t have the one mishap.
