Visited the coffee shop on Saturday and was disappointed to see absolutely nothing dairy free, Pre lockdown I used to order a jacket potato with beans but they have been discontinued, I asked about the ingredients in the soup and after much tutting from staff was shown the list of ingredients and opted for the soup, whilst I was waiting for this to arrive I went into the food hall to purchase some dairy free hot cross buns so that I could have something with my coffee, very poor selection from a coffee shop whose plonked in a shop that sells a large selection of plant based products:(

M & S would normally be our go to place for some quality dining treats, however, we have been disappointed several times recently by the product quality and particularly the 'use by' dates.
In our recent shops we found many 'use by' dates were either the same day or following day, which is OK if you intend to eat almost immediately, but useless if you are e.g. planning for the weekend.
If the date has already been reached they should mark the item accordingly and clearly so customers are not disappointed (do we have to check every single item? - I guess so!).
We also found during as recent visit every large size pack of potato salad was not sealed, the film tops were clearly loose and open. Why was this not picked up by the 'quality' supplier or at least somewhere in the delivery chain?
M & S Food have a place in the market which has been achieved through premium quality and service over many years, if a little expensive. I'm starting to feel they may be expecting too much from their previously loyal following..
Note - Staff have always been and still are great!

Awful customer service. I click and collected a parcel to my local M&S Foodhall and the bedding I ordered was filthy as a result of the packaging being ripped. I spoke to M&S customer services online and was advised to return it to any M&S store by showing my online returns barcode. However, when I arrived at this M&S I was told that they couldn’t accept my return without the original parcel bag it came in (in a very patronising manner). I was told that I couldn’t return the item to any M&S Foodhall without the packaging and alternatively, would need to go to an M&S with a home section - I was actually specially told to go to M&S in Chester as this is the closest (outrageous as i live an hour away). I left and spoke again to M&S customer services online who confirmed that I could take my return to any M&S Foodhall without the packaging as long as I had my online return barcode. Therefore, I tried my local M&S Foodhall and they accepted it no problem with no questions asked. I was clearly lied to by the staff in this M&S and if I had believed them it would have cost me a trip to Chester just to get an item returned which was damaged by M&S themselves. Need a good lesson in customer service and the rules that apply in all M&S stores to stop wasting customers time and money!

I went to M&S Broughton today and had a fantastic experience which deserves a review. I was struggling round the store with a buggy in one hand, basket in the other just about to go to the till and a member of staff came over and asked if he could take my basket to the till for me. I didn’t get his name but I really appreciated the help and the fact that this member of staff went above and beyond to help with my in store experience. Then at the till I’d accidentally got the wrong products for a special offer. Two members of staff helped me get a refund for the products in the offer and change them for the right products for the deal. I really appreciated the support and will definitely be coming back. Thank You to M&S Broughton!

Love this shop, great parking facilities, superb food and wonderful helpful staff.
I must say that Robbie and the other lady who work on the bakery (sorry just can't think of your name) are amazing, friendly and helpful. Jill at the self service is always chatty and helpful as are pretty much all of the staff there - it really is a very friendly shop to buy from, almost to the point where it feels like a small family run business.
Well done M&S for creating such a lovely place to shop.

Got some chicken and stuffing slices reduced with yellow label on assuming they would be in date until the end of that day. Got home checked the date and it went out of date the day before so had to bin them. Surly it’s illegal to sell out of date food ?
