Brousko Greek Restaurant Oxford

I went to the restaurant in September 2020 and ordered in Feb 21. The experience was outstanding on both occasions.

At the restaurant:
As a native Greek living abroad, I found the decorations brought sentiments of feeling at home. Very friendly welcome by their outstanding waiter whose positivity shines in the room when he speaks! Food was very tasty - you can tell no corners have been cut here and it's very worth the price. I would definitely suggest it for celebrations with friends but also for a nice carefree dinner with your special someone.

Delivery:
I ordered through deliveroo and the food took approx 50 mins to get here - a testament to it being made fresh and you could definitely find no difference in taste with the real deal at the restaurant. It was a very pleasant surprise to see the same very cheerful guy who greeted us at the restaurant in the autumn, deliver the food with the same infectious positivity. Tried the chicken and pork gyros wraps and the souvlaki wrap (shared the three with my special someone on a very hungry night). All were spot on and truly authentic. Keftedakia were very fragrant with herbs and a very worthwhile side.

It's very hard to find anything I would suggest to improve - if I had to find something it would be elevating that very tasty kataifi to a sublime desert by crispening the topping and adding a scoop of kaïmaki ice cream on the side!

Due to the recommencement of university, I only recently discovered the little Greek restaurant on Cowley; Brousko! I was very pleasantly surprised. I discovered delicious food from a culture I wasn’t familiar with, fantastic service, stylish interior and a great soundtrack to go with the food. I am vegetarian myself and the options available were really fantastic!

We came to Brousko a few weeks ago for my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a wonderful evening. The dishes were so flavoursome. It felt like a very authentically Greek restaurant, the best I have tried in Oxford. Great selection of mezze and mains to suit everybody- I really loved the 'kefalotyri saganaki' fried cheese, and 'xtapodi' octopus. 100% recommend - we will definitely be back!

We had a really great experience .We decided as a group of 3 to have a mezze of all the starters on offer to share and it was like being back in Greece,the gigantes were just excellent. We had an ouzo and I think 3 bottles of wine and the obligatory table water. The staff were amazing and made sure we were attended to for all our needs. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be visiting again

Came here to check out the newest addition to cowley Road, When I went in I was greeted by a lovely Greek girl and shown to my table, our order was taken with no hesitation, however it went down hill from there. Our starters took over 35 minutes to arrive, please bare in mind we had only ordered olives and pitta bread, our mains took another 1hour and 15mins. The waitress checked up on us and apologised and spoke to the kitchen a couple of times to check when our food is coming. However from what I can see the kitchen had messed up many orders. The food was ok, nothing special, however the price for what I received was extortionate. I definitely won’t be returning. I would avoid at all costs unless you are happy to wait nearly 2 hours for mediocre food. Kitchen need to step it up.

So fortunate to have this place in Oxford. Food is stunning. The service is excellent. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Plenty of room for bigger groups. I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. 👌

Exceptionally delicious - visited during Eat out to help out and was blown away by how lovely the food was... even though it was busy.

Months later it stands apart as brilliant food - just hope they survive lockdown as that location seems to change a lot from one food business to another.

Ordered a takeaway for a birthday treat. The food is amazing! So tasty and lots of it, great veggie/vegan options. Can't wait for Brousko to re-open, we will be there to eat in!
