Rude staff, no please or thank you, asked for a receipt and was told there was a problem with the till, so I asked for a written receipt. I was then told by a different member of staff " if you used the correct entry to the cafe you would have seen a sign stating you cannot get a receipt". I did use the correct entrance and there was No sign. The member of staff called me a liar. Obnoxious and untrained people should not be representing a company with a great reputation.

Big car park. Good location. Large premises with wide isles. Post Office, toilets, café and cash machine. Wide selection of food and drink. Competitively priced and usually some attractive reductions. Now has attached clothes shop - Dorothy Perkins. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Would be 2 Stars, however some (a few) members of staff are helpful. Limited stock of fresh foods and ludicrous prices on items such as Wlakers Crisps. Most of the staff are like robots, slow and steady robots. No peronal offence but even Tesco at Alfreton have a higher percentage of happy and efficient checkout staff. The last sentance is not not meant as a compliment.

Myself and the wife use this store (maybe not so much after yesterday) daily for bits n bobs. Yesterday our purchases were scanned (notice I’ve not used the word ‘served’) by a petulant, sour faced young ‘lady’ called Fern.
As she served those in front of us there was not one please or thank you, she was verging on aggressive in my opinion, either that or she just didn’t want to be there and boy was she letting everyone know.
She spat out a demand for payment and I had to check her…. ‘Do you mean £xx.xx PLEASE?’
There was no response other than an angry glare. I repeated myself, she maintained the glare. This was followed with a very disgruntled ‘Do you want the receipt’
I replied NO THANK YOU with the emphasis on thank you, again met by an angry glare.
I’ll be getting in touch with the Co-op by email this person is absolutely not fit for the job she’s doing. 1/10 for customer service and relations

Tried the cafe for the first time today as a family group of 5, the lovely ladies serving handled it very well especially considering it was a Sunday. The food was freshly cooked & really well too which came as a suprise as supermarket cafe food is normally average at best. The The wait time was quite quick, I saw them have to fetch more chilli for my jacket potato off the store floor & I appreciate that effort when some other places would just have come out & said sorry no chilli. Kids declared this the best place in England for chips high praise indeed! Total cost for all including our drinks was £21 I consider this great value will definitely be visiting again

the chocolate twists are world class and some staff members are friendly and can crack a smile even with a mask,

other than this a lady serving me was awfully rude to me and my friend letting their emotions get in the way of the workplace… it was like doing the conga on the social distance lines. i also noticed that they don’t state obvious sales which would possibly put them at a disadvantage.
