First time visit to Aldi and probably the last. Most items are not brand names but are not much cheaper. The none grocery items down the middle of the store are cheap and nasty. Sorry but can't find much good to say as I was so unimpressed

ALDI likes to boast they are the best by saying ''Aldi has overtaken Marks & Spencer and Waitrose as the best-performing supermarket for customer satisfaction.'' That statement is unproven, just because they said it doesn't make it true! Aldi could never compete with the likes of M&S and Waitrose on quality, or customer service. They are quite simply the cheaper end of the scale with a poor customer service history to match. While a recession is looming people are looking to reduce their costs, as a result ALDI is currently enjoying a bonanza, but the saying is true you only get what you pay for. I was in ALDI's Edwalton store today 28/09/2022 around 3pm, and unsurprisingly as i walked in i saw staff chattering about how few staff have left, and also noticed a few new faces. High staff turnover is not something new at ALDI. A company that treats it's staff poorly, treats it's customer poorly. Anyway as i made my way through the check-out nearest the entrance i was met by a miserable looking assistant who was rude and abrupt, didn't even have the courtesy to look at me as she served me and handed me my receipt. I know we are in the UK and the concept of service isn't a thing we understand too well, however service with a smile, respect still stand for something, like the saying the ''customer is always right.'' Well not so in ALDI's case. This review is to show you the customer a way to affects their business where it hurts...the profit margin. Forget reviews, ringing up to complain or sending emails, none of that really works. Big companies realise they get huge numbers of complaints but do very little about them. They are like most corporations only interested in the bottom line. So if you find yourself experiencing poor service, start filming in a legal manner as it's technically private property, using it for (personal use and protection) and not for commercial gain, or harassment. Then start uploading your in-store bad experience to social media platforms like YouTube and Twitter etc showing what they're actually like, no only will it embarrass the rude assistant, but make the manger look incompetent as well, showing the viewer and other potential customers what this store is really like. Be savvy don't rely on phone calls, talking to a online bot, or emailing an address that doesn't work. This is done as a deliberate tactic because they don't want to have to deal with you and your complaints. Don't be intimidated, make them accountable!

I really like their produce but their new policy about their shopping trolleys is: they don’t have an alternative to the use of coins to use a trolley, which is just shambles. I never carry money with me. And today, raining cats and dogs and with my 2year old, I asked if I could use a shopping trolley and they said: only if you have money, “they” keep taking the trolleys away”. I didn’t do nothing, I’m just a consumer that wants to be provided with good service, if that’s not possible I will just go to another store.

The best supermarket option with fresh groceries and close to the neighborhood.
Look out for the 30% off discount labels, mine didn’t get registered at till and paid full price.
Didn’t find out until I am back at home.

A very good Aldi. What more do you want from an Aldi? It's very good at being what it is.

I find it a good store has most of the things I'm looking for and great saving on shopping elsewhere. More for your money.

Plenty of parking. Clean well stocked store. Staff sometimes scan the shopping too quick and it piles up while you are putting it on your trolley as fast as you can. Prices increasing now.

It's an Aldi.
Not much else to say. The staff work hard.

Car park can get hectic due to the terrible design around the MuccyDs usage.
