We stayed 2 days for a friend's wedding and were rather pleased with the price and what you get for it.
It is true that a restaurant is not nearby but the staff recommended a really nice pub, The Duke's Head, some 15 minutes walk from there and it was really worth it.
The room and the bed were adequate, we slept well, everything was clean, nothing remarkable to say here.
Also the breakfast was delicious and served to us by a thoughtful and caring owner.

I booked double room of this lodge for 2 nights, since I need to move in another place in 2 days and was not having option except book a cheap hotel, but i was not aware owner of this lodge is cheap and cheater, Actually I was having 6-7 bags since I moved in to this country. He took benefit of my less knowledge of rules and regulations about the country. He did not let me in the hotel I was having my family(Partner and my only kid) with me and it was raining.
He said I can’t allow you to in the hotel because you have a lot of luggage( I checked the website of this lodge not luggage limit was mentioning anywhere), In any case I was not having any option at that time so he took the benefit of the time and asked me to stay but he will charge £75/night while when I booked it was £32/Night. Even after paying £75/ night he kept some of our luggage in open(leaky roof) area where rain spoiled some of our stuff.
Really fraud/cheater person. Hope after reading this review no one in future will get cheated by this person.
I am rating this lodge zero because of the fraud happened to me.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip. Friendly and laid back staff. Clean room. Didn't get time to try the breakfast but smelled lovely in the morning. Reasonable prices. Would stay again.

Budget accommodation with a budget feel. Tea and coffee facilities are communal and not in the room. Blanket and fleece cover on bed, no duvet. Fleece would be very heavy to clean between each guest.

Clean quiet and cheap. I was slightly dubious when booking a room here I'd not heard great things, but still thought I'll give it a go and it really wasn't at all what I was expecting
The staff are polite and very helpful the rooms for the price are a reasonable size and were clean and presentable.
I would definitely book in again if work sends me this way again
