Stansted Guest House

Very dodgy area, very rude personnel, just avoid it.

- In order to reach the hotel from the airport you must walk 20 minutes in a dodgy-looking road in countryside, in the complete darkness.

- Facilities seem quite poor and dirty

- I arrived around midnight and rang at the doorbell. The owner came out angry, yelling at me and saying that he wouldn't open the door, so I'd better go back to the airport and sleep on the floor. So despite the fact that he was already awaken, he told he'd call the police, sent me away and charged the full price of the staying. Never had such an experience in any hotel in my life.

The most horrid experience of my professional as well as private travels - I booked via booking and got in 23.40 which they were notified of ahead of time. I came to the property by taxi, and it said: closed. I rang a bell and a lady looked out saying she is a guest and no one is in so I should leave. I tried to call the number and see if maybe they left me a key somewhere? The lady looked out of my window and this time she said: get out of my house! So I understood she is the owner; she kept denying it though. She said she will call the police - I did actually like the idea because I needed to get back to the Airport - at this point I saw that there is something very wrong with this place. I rang the bell again and tried to get the lady - obviously it was Christine, the owner, to solve the situation. She instead got her husband - Nick, who insulted me through the window. I asked him to call the police then, or to give me a number, which he declined and ran out of the house. He took my suitcase and threw it out of the courtyard yelling: GET OUT of my PROPERTY!!! I started to yell at this point as well, I returned and noticed that Christine is videotaping it from the upper window. What a shameful, unacceptable behavior! At this point, it was 1 oclock at night, over one kilometer away from the Stansted Airport, so I began my journey back on foot. Later in another hotel i found their message, sent at 21.59 the same night that they cannot accomodate me later than at 23.00. They obviously KEPT the payment! They did cancel me for no show early morning at 1.25, so obviously they did get up to do that, but they could not open the room I paid for to let me in! Well, the travellers can judge for themselves.

Clean room and premises. It is around a 20 minute walk from Stansted Airport though. Bring food along with you from one of the restaurants in the Airport. Avoid walking at night as you do most of the walking on a country road in darkness with motorists zooming past! Beware of strict check in times! (16:00 - 23:00) check this in advance before making your reservation. The host is rather direct and appears strict. At the venue, card payments attract a GBP 5 surcharge. This place is ok as a last minute transit location.

Great place to stay.. well looked after.. so convenient for the airport.. the managers were really helpful. Will definitely use them again.

Disgusting is the best word I can use for the staff at this place. My 19 year old son who has ADHD, dyslexia and high anxiety went abroad for the first time and on the way back his plane got cancelled. His new arrival time in the UK was 11:30pm. He panicked and tried to book a room for when he arrived back. He added 11:30 book in on the special requirements and paid via a booking center. He then got a email from this place saying that its 10:30 latest check in.
I called straight away...within 20 mins. The very rude women on the phone said that he had booked a non-refundable room. I explained that he did not understand the booking times due to his disabilities and she started to become even ruder. I explained that my child would be there by 11:20 the latest. I am a single mum and dont drive.
She said "i have recently come out of hospital and am not willing to stay open"
So they took my sons money...would not refund within 20 mins...ignored his disability.
Well i hope you are happy as my son is in the air right now and i still cant get him a room tonight. Hope you like the review i will be putti g on social media.

Never ever seen sucha discousting people in my whole life . After a long journey i went there with my 5 years old kid I paid for the room before I get there with my last money. They told me they not able to accept children’s because “ they can burn the place “ . So they told they don’t care the money is not refundable and we can sleep in the street or whatever it’s up to us . Bye and they closed the door .

Check in is until 10:30pm. Called to say my flight was late by 30min. “Sorry we can’t help you”. I am a single girl travelling late at nite. They took my money & wouldn’t help me find anything even when I told them I’m scared. They live on the property! They are a joke & stole my money & left me stranded at 11pm.

Please avoid this place - no stafe and shouldnt be allowed to run. Also, if booking the parking at YOURPARKINGSPACE - the road is unlit with no sidewalk and also not safe. Just get the airport parking sis.
