The Old Rectory Guest House

Only 10 minutes drive from Gatwick, short walk from high street. Room was good, shower was in a cubicle in the bedroom which was a bit strange but I guess it's better than needing to go down the hallway. Overall good, for the price it was just what we needed. Staff very helpful.

We arrived later than the last check-in but the staff were very accommodating and arranged for the room to be open for us. Room was fine for the price, clean and the usual aminaties. Breakfast was OK. All OK for the price.

Really nice and tidy I liked living there for the night

I've lived here for two weeks in 2005. Checked in directly after a 15 hour journey which included two flights. The landlady back then was very helpful and made me something from the kitchen even after it was closed. The rooms are small, but the hosts are very gracious.

Great rooms very clean and great landlord and great cleaner who is happy to help anytime, she is always smiling and laughing and jolly and I love this

Cons
Unfortunately not doing breakfasts anymore, even though all the signage in the rooms says otherwise. The place was quite rundown, and the TV didn't work in my room. I think it has changed hands since previous good reviews. Seems to be more set up for permanent lodgers. Also that weird English ensuite thing where the shower is actually located in your room. Unfortunately the shower head was broken, so was only able to shower by holding the shower head.
Pros
Was conveniently located. It was clean. Service was polite, though reluctant.

Excellent hosts. Great rooms and great people. Would definitely recommend! Best location too which helps.

Very friendly owners, Very clean and tidy, the building is very old but they have modernised the rooms a bit
