Where to start..
This weekend has been the most magical and amazing ever! I cried before we left and most of the way home, only being slightly cheered up by a visit to lake vyrnwy!
We were greeted by the lovely Clive who welcomed us to the beautiful guesthouse and got us settled in. The room was stunning, with really quirky and tasteful art that they told us was part of their personal collection prior to owning the house. We had a gorgeous view onto the kitchen gardens, and the bed was super comfy.
They have an honesty bar in the stunning sitting room that’s filled with the most interesting books and quirky objects and a view of the mountains.
The food is something else, never have I felt so content, filled with super tasty and healthy homegrown food, so much effort put into from rob who insists he’s not a chef.. and I agree because he’s better.. it’s a more personal experience and he cooks like he’s cooking for much loved family, we felt truly spoilt.
He kindly showed us around the kitchen gardens proud to show the effort he’s put into, even letting us take a few plants and showing us how to care for them..
Rob and Clive are a wonderful couple and two very special people who after just 2 days have made an impact on me and i will always look forward to future visits.

We couldn’t recommend The Royston enough.. we would quite happily never get on a plane again and spend all of our free time in this beautiful place.

Thank-you for a very special weekend Clive and Rob xx

We had the most FABULOUS stay at The Royston - everything was perfect - from the peaceful setting, ultra stylish interior, tasty food (I still dream about their cookies) and warm hosts! Clive and Rob have thought of every single detail to ensure you have the most memorable stay - we loved it and look forward to coming back soon! p.s. make sure you get in quick to book dinner at the Royston - Rob's cooking and Clive's impeccable service is not to be missed!!

The Royston is truly a hidden gem and we were so lucky to have made this our first stop in Wales. Like most reviewers have mentioned, The Royston is just beautiful in every way possible. We only stayed a couple of nights here but Clive and Rob went the extra mile to make sure everything in sight was fabulous, from the tasteful decor to the homemade supper - there wasn’t a single thing that we disliked!
Even the slippers they prepared for guests were of the highest quality I’ve seen - so comfy that I stole them so I could use them for the rest of my trip (sorry!).
I could spend pages and pages praising Clive and Rob for the creation of The Royston…But I also hope it somewhat remains a secret: enjoyable by everyone who comes in yet is never too crowded.
This is definitely not your regular kind of guesthouse - it’s a little paradise on Earth.

I cannot praise the quality of care and atmosphere at the delightful Royston enough.
My husband and I had two glorious days here.
Clive and Rob have paid attention to everything and make one feel completely at ease.
Congratulations on all your hard work and creativity both.
Hopefully we’ll pay another visit.

Rob and Clive have refined a boutique hotel in a beautiful spot. Great views and a farmyard with their own chickens and vegetables make it a perfect spot from which to explore mid Wales!

On arrival we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from Clive. We stayed in room 3. The room was gorgeous, the decor was impeccable, you could see that Clive and Rob have paid so much care and attention to every little detail. The home made cookies were a special treat that we enjoyed with our coffee. We opted for the hot cooked breakfast which was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Royston is situated in a quiet location, great base for exploring Mid Wales. We had a fabulous time and would go back in a heartbeat. Many thanks to Clive and Rob.

I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere with such a warm and friendly welcome! Clive and Rob were the most generous hosts, and made ourselves and our dog feel so welcome. We were so nervous to stay away with Poppy for the first time, but they made her feel right at home and gave her all the belly rubs she asked for. We ate both nights and the evening meals and breakfasts were amazing. The attention to detail and little touches in all the meals, service and rooms were the best I've ever experienced. We can't wait to come back and show more people this amazing spot!
