The Usk Guest House

Great beer garden and a lovely homely feel to the lounge area. Great home cooked food and a lovely refreshing pint in the Usk valley. The service was great and the room we stayed in was cosy, clean and of great value. Give this one a try if you love traditional and tasty. A great welcome from Sam and the team. X

Brilliant pub / B&B!!!!!!!

You couldn't ask for more from this lovely country pub.
The new owners have really done a huge amount of work to improve the cosmetics of the pub, they're also lovely people who can't do enough for you during your visit.
The food is freshly cooked daily & delicious and the portion sizes are very generous.
The bar keeps a great offering of tap ales' and cider & is a lovely old room full of character and charm, the fireplace is also beautiful for the cooler days & nights of the year.
Crucially this is a B&B, which means it's also someones home, it isn't a hotel and shouldn't be thought of as one! Instead it's a lovely relaxing B&B which offers a great breakfast and evening meal for its guests.
The rooms were very clean and well presented.

The Usk Inn is a perfect stopping point for walking / cycling or outdoor activities in and around the central Brecon beacons & the black mountains.

I would definitely return & recommend to anyone and wish the new owners the very best of luck with the business.

just to be clear, I don't normally complaint (check my others reviews).We didn't had the chance to taste the amazing food everyone is talking about or either the Welsh drinks. The man at the bar(probably the owner) is one of the rudest person I ever met: we popped inside to check if we they had a table but he "invited"us first to wait outside because the pub was closed (12.00noon) and told us 3times and in a rude way, that there was no food because they were fully booked. Disgusting attitude!

Couldn’t fault this fantastic, comfortable and cosy guest house! Steve and Sam were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and breakfast was just perfect! Highly recommended!

Top location in Talybont on Usk. Kind owners, clean and comfortable bedroom, good breakfast. Top place to start amazing walks in the region. A place to come back !

Lovely rooms and lovely owners! Would definitely stay again.

Lovely warm welcome. Felt looked after & all COVID precautions effortlessly in place. Breakfast was substantial & delicious (even for vegetarians). Room was pretty & spacious with good hot shower. Located in a very pretty and quiet valley surrounded by green and a variety of good walks of different levels . A car would provide more convenience and options for day trips but we managed fine on the bus from Abergavenny. On our last day we walked along the canal to the next village & picked it up from there. The village store, a few minutes walk away, does great sandwiches for lunch (& surprisingly great cocktails!) & there are a couple of lovely pub options for dinner. Couldn't imagine a better place to getaway to after a tough year!
