Y Castell Hotel

Called in for a beer and lunch. Surprised by the excellent crispy chicken baguette and Asian slaw and the crab cakes. Both superb. The chef popped out to check we had enjoyed. Totally unexpected really quality food, obviously talented chef. Dog friendly too. A great find.

Great food, really helpful staff and they even went the extra mile and made a smaller kids version of an adult meal for my son. Good price and no portions.

My husband and I live near the town and decided to go to the castle pub for a drink and I asked for a cocktail called on the cei and it was amazing it had vodka,peach snaps,lime,orange and cranberry in. Great service,friendly staff and a nice place to have a drink.

Stopped in for food and a much deserved post-hike pint. Good options for pub food (I'm vegan, partner is vegetarian, kid is a kid) and all very tasty. Beer had limited options but there was a decent blonde ale on cask.

Can't make comment about food as we were not allowed into the restaurant.
Or more specifically they wouldn't allow my daughters fully accredited medical assistance dog, he was in full jacket and collar. Their excuse was the carpet in the restaurant! Hope they have no visitors with dirt on their shoes!
Staff members were fairly rude/aggressive and did not appear to know the law regarding access and assistance dogs and weren't willing to listen.

Lovely place with really great staff.. and a fantastic carvery

Popped in for a meal as it's dog friendly and happy to report that even on a quiet night in winter the food and service was great.

Very popular pub with great service in a central location on the square.
