Lovely shop with a range of beautiful fabrics including a lot of solids, which many shops don’t have. Gorgeous linens. Also a selection of lovely patterns made up into garments so you can see how the fabrics look. Super range of patterns and haberdashery too. And the staff were so helpful and friendly. Top class.

Always been very happy with ray stitch. The staff are real friendly and knowledgeable about the fabrics and accessories they sell. If not they will look it up immediately to assist you. The quality is always excellent and anyone in London who sews would benefit from going for a visit you will not be disappointed. They do sewing lessons too.

Fantastic shop with loads of gorgeous fabric and haberdashery. Went in to get supplies for my husband's Ilford jacket project and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, giving suggestions and good advice. So pleased I've discovered this place!!

Cannot recommend highly enough!Beautifully laid out and high quality fabrics, haberdashery supplies and also a pleasant area to browse through patterns. Really helpful staff. A good range of classes on offer too from beginner levels to more advanced classes.
Easy to get to - close to several bus stops and within easy walking distance from Angel Tube.

I finally made the journey across London to Ray Stitch after a long time of wanting to visit in person. The shop stocks lots of lovely sewing supplies and is well laid out and I really like that they offer classes that teach various sewing skills. I was shocked however to be treated very rudely by a particular member of staff after I accidentally knocked a rail holding reels of ribbons, and a few fell to the floor. I was embarrassed, extremely apologetic, and immediately went to collect the reels. The staff member who happened to be nearby was visibly irritated, impatient, and rude in her response to my apologies, so much so that I was stunned into silence and felt quite upset. I don’t think I’ve been treated in such a way since I was a child! Extremely poor way to treat anyone but especially a paying customer, unfortunately this customer will not be returning. Disappointed.

I’m writing my review 5 months on, it is just I finally made my jeans (and shorts) from the beautiful fabric and pattern I purchased at Ray and Stitch in July. I am so happy with the quality. And to the woman (whose name I have forgotten) but I did not forget her helpfulness and honesty and the time she spent with me whilst I deliberated on what to pick for my first project.

A great selection of fabrics. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. There are sewing classes hosted on the premises which gives it a nice buzz. Lots of trims and patterns available as well. Some of the patterns are made up to try on/ check out before purchasing which I thought was great. Fabric swatches are available in packs all over the place which can be super helpful when looping for a fabric pairing or when patch-working like in my case. Definitely worth the trip from south London.
