I came across Etty Lilly shop almost two years ago when I was visiting our caravan that was sited nearby. This shop is like an alladins cave. There is such a wide variety of stock from lots of rolls of material which is good quality and reasonably priced, as well as a large and varied selection of knitting wools. There is also an excellent selection of sewing machines that will suit all pockets. After seeking advice from the owner Helen I decided to purchase a sewing machine. As I had never had any sewing machine experience I decided to try the "Learn how to use your Sewing Machine" course. This was held over 3 hours one evening, The tutor Rosalie is excellent, patient and always offers good advice if someone is struggling (as I have done several times at various classes). As well as learning how to use my machine I also made a completed sewing bag. I then signed up for several more classes including various types of patchwork. I have learnt such a lot from Rosalie and Helen and am still going to classes learning various things. As well as knitting wool, material and machines there is also a large selection of accessories, kits and fancy goods. I certainly would recommend people visit this shop where you will always be assured of a warm welcome and advice if required. You will also come away knowing that you have received good products at good prices. Something that you cannot always be assured of.

I drove 45 miles yesterday specially to go to Etty-Lilly; partly because of the reviews, partly because of the name and partly because it was the only shop within a wide radius that had any sewing machines left.
Helen was incredibly helpful, delightfully friendly and obviously loves her job.
She let me try one of the machines and showed me how to use it, all carefully COVID aware.
I came away with a new sewing machine and I’m very happy!

Dropped in this morning as my sewing machine was playing up and within 5 minutes it was all sorted…..user error on my part. Very friendly and caring staff. I Bought my machine here 6 years ago and this is the first time there has ever been a problem and then it was the user not the machine 😀 Excellent service.

Visited yest with an idea of all-sorts of things I thought I needed to try a new craft. Was given brilliant honest advice and I didn't need anything I didn't already have to try it 🙂 Plus some great overlocker advice which fixed the issue I was having with that. Thank you.
Would recommend Etty-Lily for machine purchasing and overlocker tutorial session 👍 been very happy with both!
