It's been almost a month since I visited Tufties and I have not left a review sooner as I wanted to think about what to say and didn't want to automatically leave a negative review

I booked into Tufties for a Birthday Treat to myself after not visiting a hair salon in 12 years. My hair had become damaged as I tied it up into a hair bobble every day and needed a really good cut. I went for 2 consultations to discuss what I wanted before my initial appointment as I was very nervous about having so much hair cut off.

Despite a decent cut, I have to say I was disappointed with the overall experience. I felt like I was in the hairdressers way and didn't really come away with the 'pampered' feeling I was hoping for. I opted for Tufties as it was a more expensive salon and thought I would be paying for the experience but it all just felt very awkward, like I was in the way of the hairdresser doing their job. I understand that communication is difficult with wearing masks and visors but I still felt it could have been better. I also said I did not want highlights and wanted more of a ombre / balayage colour as I did not want to end up with stripes in my hair, but I feel like I didn't get the results that I wanted. Finally the styling of my hair was just a quick blow dry and 'there you go'... I would have liked to have been given a choice, and I also asked at the consultation if I could be given advice on different ways to style my hair but I basically got told how to dry it with a hairdryer.... when I would have liked to have been told of a couple of different styles I could try doing to it.

Overall good cut, good colour although not necessarily what I expected, but for the price I would have expected the service to be a bit friendlier/ more pampery.

I have my eyebrows shaped here. They are very prompt and efficient and the decor is really lovely. Just what you want for a little bit of pampering 👍

So I visited Tufties today, I did an online booking, and I booked in with sky, as she did my daughters hair a while back she was very good and attentive, so I thought I will book her for me. Turned up and it wasn't skye that was doing my hair it was a young girl, which was quite disappointing as nothing was mentioned to me. The young girl was definitely not sky as she said she's only been working there for 2 weeks. Seems to me if your not a loyal customer, you just get whoever they give you, which is such ashame as they're quick to take your money but don't book you in with the stylist you paid for. To be honest I left the salon without a great experience, the stylist didn't even straighten my hair and didn't even ask me if I liked my hair is there anything else i would like doing ect. And to make thing's worse, she decided to thin my hair which I didn't ask for, and once I got home it's not even blended in its like she's been hacking at my hair for fun.
I've had a better experience at Nigels in Blackburn.

Had gel nails done twice by different staff, both very nice, but wasn't a relaxing experience, so if your looking for speed then you will be happy. Both times, the nails looked great, but chipped very quickly. Second time, the gel polish came off two nails within days. I was on holiday so couldn't get repaired. I probably won't go back as my polish usually lasts for a month or more. Worth a try though, may have just been unlucky. I'll go back to my usual technician who spends double the time on my nails, but they last so much longer. Sorry Tufties

First time visiting this salon and I was so nervous after having the same hairdresser for 7yrs, (at another salon) sky was just adorable, confident and professional, she put me at ease and left me feeling beautiful on leaving.worth every penny! I definitely chose the right salon.
