On the 21st of July 2018 (this past Saturday), I went to a saloon of yours (Rush Hair in Woking Shopping Centre) to do highlights. My hair colour was then regular brown (colour ~7.1).
I was assigned a “technician” named Sharie. When explaining to her what I wanted, I explicitly said “I do not want to become Blonde”, and I showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She then handed me a of colours to choose the highlight colour I wanted to choose, and I asked whether she felt an 8 or a 9 would be the best. She just said it was my decision. Because I wanted to have highlights and I thought a 8 would be too close to my colour, I decided to pick the colour 9.1 (which was not available, and I then accepted a 9.1.3).
When the job was finished, I was shocked to find that I was indeed blonde. I did find weird the large amounts of hair which were being used for the highlights, but I (wrongly) trusted the “technician” knew what she was doing, besides, it was too late to do anything about it anyway.
My hair colour is now Blonde! Exactly what I said I did not want. Worst, the job is not even well done, I have large amounts of highlights that start only after 2 inches of hair. Now, the only way of fixing this is dyeing my hair again back to (I hoped!) what it was before it was made blonde. And they don’t even have the colour I had, so I had to settle for something they had…. Or go elsewhere and pay again.
I complained to the manager (Imogen), and she was just as poor in handling this situation. She was not understanding at all, she tried to find excuses and deflect most of the issue which only helped getting me more annoyed at the whole situation. Worst, I was asked to pay.
It is important to point out that when asked “do you agree that this hair is blonde”, after some deflection, it was admitted that it is indeed blonde.
So my summary of the experience at your saloon was: I asked to NOT be blonde, I was turned blonde anyway, and then I paid for that. Oh, but the manager said, “fixing the issue is complementary”. Great stuff. I feel I was just robbed, but even worse, the robber ruined my hair…
This is a brand of saloons that I will for sure mention to all my friends and I’ll make sure that all the online reviewing possible will be done. It is important for people to know what to expect when going into one of these places.
Emma is very professional and attentive, but also lots of fun to talk to which makes the time fly by. She always remembers my coffee so I never have to ask and picks up on conversations from my previous appointments, making for a really lovely experience. She is a highly skilled stylist and genuinely cares that your are happy with the end result, so you can relax in the knowledge that you're in safe hands.
The thing I like most about Emma though is that she is honest. She will always tell you what she really thinks will work when you come in with ideas, giving good advice that has never steered me wrong. My hair is now in great condition and I'm really happy with it.
I could not recommend Emma highly enough.
I didn’t think it was possible to fix the condition of my hair, not just the colour which was red and faded but the overall dryness from too much styling.
Brittany was amazing. She was very chatty, ensuring I was happy and comfortable at each stage and listened to all that I wanted and was brilliant at what she did. I cannot fault her because from the moment I arrived, to the moment I left, I felt like I was being truly pampered. She was the only person I had dealings with during my visit but she was never distracted and was focused on her job. A real asset to the Rush Hair team whom I highly recommend.
PPE was worn throughout, there was protective screens up, markings on the floor and it was very clean, with hand sanitiser at each station.
After many years doing my own hair, with little time for myself, I am going to ensure I keep up my new hairstyle and have already booked in for my next appointment. 10/10!
