Koko Hair

I don’t usually leave reviews but I had such a lovely experience at this salon. After a very disappointing visit to a London salon late last year I decided to book in for cut and colour at Koko a couple of weeks ago. I’d read some great reviews and I’m so glad I chose Koko! Laura did my colour and she’s the only hairdresser to get it just perfect. I had a cut as well by a lovely lady - cannot remember her name but again I am so so happy. Will definitely be going back!

I moved to Guildford 1.5 y. ago and one of my challenges was to find a good hair stylist, till I met Leah! She is just amazing.
My hair was completely damaged after many years of blonde highlights, straighteners and Dubai salt water.
But Leah has brought my hair to life again thank you to her expertise and knowledge. Now my hair is healthy and I am back to blonde! I even got emotional when we got the final and desired result.
Undoubtedly, the best hands!

really quick and efficient but not rushed. Liv was fantastic and took time to perfectly understand what i wanted from the service. very fairly priced for guildford and ill definitely be returning. also all the products smelled amazing and liv explained what each of them did and how theyd work for my hair which i really appreciated!!

Koko is a salon that promotes opportunity and development in young, excited stylists with so many loyal highly experienced stylists too! I have long red wavy hair which has many weird waves and kinks, and Steve is phenomenal! He asks what I plan for my hair and after the cut he will tell me sometimes... "Don't come in for 4 months. We want them length", who does that when they run business!! Amazing! Chaps, there is no better scissor cut in Guildford for a man than Steve! His ethos can be seen in the bespoke metal and woodwork in the shop. It's such a friendly place to be! Wish they had room to extend to a chill out coffee zone!!

What a brilliant hairdressers. Steve is always open and honest with advice on cuts and he is always right! Cassie and the team are the same with colour - I’ve always left feeling happy and satisfied.

I have a bit of a phobia of getting my haircut and going to salons so I nearly cancelled my appointment. I went and got my hair washed by a young lady who was lovely and did a perfect wash- I forgot her name my apologies. Then I got my haircut by Laura and she did an awesome job, she gave me a fringe and some layers at the front. She respected when I said I didn't want a lot off the back and only trimmed it so I was happy. She is very talented and friendly, I would go back. The receptionists were also kind.

I had my hair done at the salon on numerous occasions to only end up with damaged orange hair after 9 months of treatments. I requested my hair to be fixed which was refused with several aggressive emails. Most of the treatments were done by different people some don’t know exactly what to do as they would bleach my hair again at my last appointment which I refused. This is absolutely unacceptable and any hair salon would be apologetic and happy to fix the hair I believe. Hair is super important for anyone. Clearly this company has absolutely no care when it comes to customers let alone any experience or knowledge when it comes to treating hair.
Update 7th September 2022: I visited the hair salon at the weekend to assure my hair will be fixed and even offered to pay for it myself as they refused to fix my hair free of charge as any other hair salon would do ,offering £20 refund which is unacceptable. The appointment was booked for few days later, weekday which I had to take time off work. I came to the salon on the day, greeted by the manager and seated shortly afterwards. I was spoken to in unpleasant, aggressive almost threatening way. I felt very distressed. The manager didn’t even ask to see and check condition of my hair and check the colour as to what has been done - that’s clearly wrong. I was told no service will be provided, let me quote she said ‘ I just wanted to see your face.’ That is very worrying behaviour, almost disturbed. She continued in angry tone ‘ How dare you coming here to ask your hair to be fixed.’ To my utter shock I asked her why she wasted my time and deceived me into believing my hair will be fixed as agreed and booked with the hair salon days ago? She kept saying she only wanted to see how I look - almost threatening me. I left the salon, very upset only to hear the manager talking about me behind my back to her staff in a bad manner. This hair salon has been one bad experience, not only I am left with dry damaged hair with orange over bleached ( chemical burns) hair - let me mind you there is no timer as should be, whatsoever so when hair is bleached or used any chemicals they don’t time it correctly - but also I was treated in the most disrespectful way any customer can be. I hope this review will help many potential customers to avoid making the same mistake as me. Hair is one of the most important features on anyone.

I’ve had my hair cut with them a few times and it’s always been fine. But when I booked a consultation for dying my hair (black Asian hair) the last immediately
said it won’t work. Was really negative and did not offer options. Took a strand of my hair for testing and never heard back. Wasted £15. Now I go to a different place to get my hair dyed.
