I have really enjoyed trying new things and learning about the different cheese's and wines, and the shop is great for that. I would also recommend their wine and cheese tastings, as I always feel like an expert when I leave!
Selection of products is amazing and they also will order in specific items on request. Always get my cheese and wine from here. Recently had the luxury fish pie which was amazing nice treat while not able to eat out
Staff are friendly and helpful
We asked for Provola, Stracchino and Cotto Ham, the woman didn't know what we were talking about so she rudely looked at me, annoyed she said first "What is that?!" then asked to repeat.
Now, as the place it is present as a Deli, I though the staff would have been aware of various range of continental product. But that's ok, not the issue, maybe they are specialised in French Deli or other countries.
The bad thing was that attitude close to "I don't know what the hell are you talking about, just be quick and move!" After she asked to the owner, found out they didn't have the cheese so I took just the "Italian Ham" (Cotto Ham) and some Coppa. I wanted to buy more, some brie and other cheeses, but I felt she was so unwelcome and rushed and hostile ambience, I just paid for the meat and left, quickly. There was another young girl who took the payment who was sweet and polite instead, I feel I have to mention that.
The selection of cheeses is quite big and looks good, cured meat at the counter was a bit too pale / dark in colour and didn't look super fresh. I didn't like the quality of Ham, but the Coppa was nice. Overall is good to have a Deli in the neighbour for cured meat and cheese (always better than packed from supermarket), but if you are not nice to locals in a small place such Pitshanger, well....I just won't go back, as there are other Deli around, with very friendly people ready to assist you.
