Very good local ironmongers.
Good range of cupboard hinges and other decent quality hardware.
Invaluable for anyone in the West End who needs to do some repair work or similar.
Staff could be a bit friendlier, but they are quite knowledgable.

A very wide range of DIY goods of all types but staff seem to be annoyed that you're there. 'The boss' couldn't be bothered to get up off his stool to help me find something when I was having difficulty - just kept saying 'it's over there' then stared into space. Then it was a matter of twisting his arm to find out if I could return something if it wasn't right. If service matters to you as it does to me, avoid this place.

I went in based upon the cornucopia of goods on display in the window. I was only after one 4 inch butt hinge for an internal door. Sold me a pair for 99p and 43p for 10, 2 inch screws. Very impressed by the shop and the amount of stock in it. Thought I would have to pay £7 for the hinges alone and I only wanted one. An independent shop selling items at a reasonable price. Would recommend, pretty good for a shop in that post code in Brewer Street.

I went to buy a paint and I asked for a good quality they sold me a very dirty and bad quality paint and didn’t wanted to change it or give a refund, not only expensive but also very rude and unfriendly people.
AVOID!!!!

Friendly service and very helpful in find what I needed - literally have everything and anything! Manager Dilip was great in helping me find what i needed and offered loads of advice! One stop shop - Best in Piccadilly!

In this age of internet shopping a business like Romanys only has any purpose if it offers excellent service and expert advice. Romanys provides neither. Its staff, who are utterly charmless in both the Soho and Mayfair shops, are either unable or unwilling to offer help. Also, its returns policy is terrible. There is a list of things that can't be returned and if they do accept a return Romanys, uniquely in my experience, charge a 20% "re-stocking fee".

I had a bad experience in Romanys at the beginning of the year, however, before writing an unfavourable review I thought as a matter of fairness I should give them a second chance. I certainly won't be giving them a third.
