When you know that B&Q etc will NOT have want you want in stock; you'll find it here. That's why this place is still going despite the huge so-called "DIY stores" in town. If you need to find it, start here - it'll save you a lot of time. Support your local independent stores

Every community should have a hardware shop; they are as essential as the doctors and the dentists. This one is an alladins cave; my favourite one in Hertfordshire.

Fantastic shop and staff - I have come in with some pretty odd requests and they’ve always got what I need... Heading back this morning for another one! Highly recommended local family business.

Welwyn DIY's employees rank among the most knowledgeable DIY experts I've ever encountered. This is a great family-run business.

A great DIY and homeware shop with very helpful staff to help you to find or decide what you need.

Went to get some photocopies today of some important paperwork I had to send off. The man asked me what it was for, I gave a brief answer of mental health assessment and then he asked me who it was for. This made me uncomfortable. Why is it his business what it is or who it’s for.
He then proceeded to lick his fingers while turning each page of the paperwork I needed copied. That’s gross at the best of times but with covid around still, ugh!
Then he finish my copies and accidentally pressed the button again and printed something twice, pulled it out half way through so the print was obscured and then added it to my pile of papers to charge me for it. When I questioned it he said I could keep it anyway and he would knock the 50p off, as if he was doing me a favour. Although trying to be pleasant I think you need to think about your actions with customers first. It’s very rude to pry into peoples business, cover their paperwork with your saliva and then ask you to pay for a mistake which was yours

Do not use this shop for phone repairs. Rubbish repairs and cheap replacement parts
