One of the Salter vans nearly ran over me and my dog yesterday on the lanes in Mounton. I had to jump into the hedge with my dog to prevent us being run over. The lanes are so narrow, there was no room to pass and he was going so fast that he just ploughed through! After I shouted, he stopped, well passed where we were in the hedgerow. He was shaken up, and admitted that he didn't see us as the sun was in his eyes. Surely, if you can't see where you are going, you slow down or stop!
After speaking to a person at Salters, looking for an apology and a commitment to slow down, I was told that Salters believe that their driver had done nothing wrong. Apparently 30mph, on a tight lane, blind bend, when the sun is blinding you, is acceptable!
This has been reported to the Police, and our experience will be used as and when required in the future, someone will get killed if that manner of driving continues. I am still really shaken up, I believe that we had a lucky escape. If I had had another dog with me, or a child, there would have been a tragedy. I am going to make it my business to tell everyone about this, not least because of the appalling lack of concern from Salters. Not great representation of a local company.

Recently had a wood burning stove installed. They had to drill through a 2 foot wall for the flue, but it looks great and they left the room looking very clean.

Excellent professional and reliable service from Derek Salter and his team particularly Andy and Nigel. They took out-of-hours calls, attended the property at short notice and fitted a new boiler etc ensuring minimum disruption and always cleaning up well afterwards with respect for the fabric and furnishings in the property. Multi fuel stove purchased from and installed by Salters. Installed by two excellent engineers, they were timely, professional, knowledgable and exceptionally clean and tidy workers. Both chaps were polite and kept us informed throughout, the stove does exactly what is says in the tin and heats the whole house beautifully, we are super pleased with it and would highly recommend Salters to provide, install and advise on these types of stove. Really positive experience throughout, and they also provide a maintenance and servicing service for the future. Very pleased.
