Longford Pump

As soon as we arrived in London our first item of business was to visit the pump. We were not disappointed. It was incredibly stationary. Will visit again.

Fantastic pump. Provides confirmation of your location at bus stop J, and simultaneously let's you tick off 'visit historic water pump' from your bucket list.

What can I say, what a PUMP! You look at it you can just imagine how much work it's been through.

You have to see it to beleive it!

One of West Drayton's top 10 tourist attractions and easy to see why! Standing at 3 metres tall this magnificently preserved 19th century water pump would have originally been used to fill the tanks of steam traction engines! A thought provoking reminiscence of an obsolete method of travel from a bygone era; a stark contrast to the incessant screaming aircraft overhead.
Lost a point as it, disappointly, doesn't actually pump any water. Also beware, the enthusiastic queues to see the pump can be fairly long early in the morning (see photo).
No gift shop.

This is a great wee place out of town, but the only down side of this beautiful place is that Heathrow Airport is only a couple of hundred metres away on one side and the mororway on the other side. It is a very quiet place regardless!!!
