This is a lovely little house owned and designed by JMW Turner. The volunteers that run it were very engaging, knowledgable and enthusiastic. There are five of his paintings as part of an exhibition upstairs of local views and scenery. I particularly liked the one looking towards Windsor Castle. It won't take long to go around, maybe half an hour. Entry was £8. Worth it and highly recommended.

Really good to see Turner’s place - well restored with friendly & knowledgable guides. You will almost certainly need to book in advance as just a few tours each open day.,,

Beautifully restored. Small but full of history. Friendly and extremely knowledgeable volunteers. Amazing exhibition. I will definitely be coming back for the next exhibition they hold. Highly recommend visiting

This is a small home (maybe 6 rooms over three levels plus the garden) but guide was extremely informative about JMW Turner’s life, influences, and history of the home.

It’s worth pre-booking the hour long tour.

Sensitively done recreation of Turner's 'get away from it all' hideaway. Lots of detail about why things are as they are. Also shows how much London has sprawled as this was countryside in Turner's time. A small exhibit of some of Turner's drawings when I visited, but no other work. This is more to see his vision of what a well designed personal space should be like.

Showed as a "Drop in" venue on Open City. Was told I needed a ticket by a far from welcoming person. As a volunteer at another heritage venue I know how important it is to be positive and friendly to visitors. This venue failed.

My name is Marc A Turner and on my recent visit to Turner’s house I was greeted with, “Welcome back Mr Turner, I knew then how J M W Turner would have felt when his Farther said those same words, it made me feel at home, our tour guide was perfect and was so enthusiastic, I was lucky enough to meet the house manager who was extremely professional.
#turnershouse is a must visit for anyone visiting #London or the #Twickenham area, it will only take you 1hr and it will be an hour well spent, learn about Turner, learn about history and enjoy Twickenham all in one day.
Life is good.
