The Equitable is an old converted bank come shabby-chic Antic pub. The decor is nice. Great beer selection. The food isn't bad at all. Pricing is reasonable, particularly when you compare it to other up-market pubs in the area. The staff are very friendly. Definitely worth going.

When this pub opened as an Antic venue I had high hopes. Unfortunately the beer here hasn't lived up to them. Dreadful big brewery high sellers like Doombar or London Pride leave very little space for smaller micro-brewery beer. Very disappointed in beer selection. Need to up their game and not only get in a bigger range of guest beers but also start providing some stronger ales instead of the sub 4.0% we seem to have a plethora of today!!!

Try the burgers! Even the chicken one is to die for! If I could give it 10 stars I would 🌟

Great ambience. Great members of staff. Very functional setting. The kind of setting you find in the heart of London is right in Woolwich. You will love their array of drinks too

AVOID!!!!
This review is for the hotel which is part of this building called simple stay/London city view.
Believe every single bad comment they have on google reviews under simple stay or London city view because probably 80% of them are true because we did experience every one of them.
Unfortunately, I had to give one star because there is no option as no star.
We booked our stay for three nights but we had to leave on our first night. They made us pay on the property and they also tried to charge the same amount after we checked out from the place. Be prepared if you book this place that the walls are paper thin you can literally hear everything that your neighbour does literally EVERYTHING it's almost like they are in your room that's how you can hear them, we had a private bathroom but the drain in the shower just STINKS we smelled it all over our room, the bedsheets and the pillow sheets are covered with stains even found random hairs on our beds when we arrived. If something wrong going to happen during your stay the manager will refuse to talk to you and the staff will be unhelpful to resolve your problem, and if something will go wrong with your room they will offer you a room WITHOUT A DOOR which is unheard of or they offer you an UNCLEANED room with a charge of £20. This place gave me the worst night of my life and we had to leave on our first night at 2:00 am because this place was that awful. Please I'm begging you just AVOID this place!!!

Beautiful building marred by being in Woolwich. The Equitable pub is it's jewel in the crown but that's been struggling recently due to some poor management.

Lovely staff and a brilliant building for a gastro pub, but it's desperately lacking in atmosphere and customers! It really needs an injection of money and imagination to be on par with the nearby competition. Ladies toilets, and I'm told also the men's, are awful, not clean looking, old, the doors are just about hanging on. We pop in from time to time as we're local hoping that it has had an upgrade but sadly not 😞 if the owners ever hope to have a thriving pub they have to invest in what woolwich needs and not generalise to the standard set up. Apparently the music that's played is a standard at all Antic pubs, might work for other areas but doesn't work in woolwich!! Shouldn't music reflect the customers in the area? The Equitable needs to find its unique identity within the Antic family.

Dreadful place, like drinking in a morgue. Nobody around. Soulless and drab with a very strange mix of awful furniture including folding seats from a cinema.
