Duddo standing stones (The 5 stones at Duddo)
A beautifully wearhered stone circle. There used to be 7 stones but 2 were taken and it is not known where.
The stones aren't too far away from the road but it recommends giving and hour. It took us about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the stones which is set in farmland. The path is easy to follow but can be very muddy as it was on our visit.

Interesting site, spectacular views across the borders and Northumbrian countryside.
Nothing there except the stones and the views but it made a refreshing change.
The path across the 3 fields to get there was clear but a little rough, not really suitable for a buggy and definitely not a wheel chair.
Our 3 year old managed the walk there but needed a shoulder ride back.
Lovely way to spend an hour.

Well worth a visit, but with one reservation - do choose a sunny day! The stones are wonderfully weathered and stand in a grand location with 360 degree vistas - whilst we were there, a lady was hugging them and so I suppose that is evidence that there are auras etc for those of a deeply spiritual nature. For me, it was enough to tap into the sense of deep history that the stones are witness to.

It's not very easy to find access, but it's well worth the walk, when you first spot it you can see why this location was chosen thousands years ago - it's on a little hill in the middle of a field with stunning views all around

The ancient stones at Duddo are an enchanting ancient site. Be prepared to walk about half-a-mile to see them from the nearest road and remember to stay to the footpath. It cuts through farmland and the farmer grants visitors access.

Once the access path has been located from the road parking is by the gate on the grass verge bearing in mind heavy farm vehicles pass close to the verge so parking close to the hedge is essential. The walk is relatively easy about a mile. There is a gradual incline and a clearly worn path leading through a field. The stones can be seen on the top of the hill. There is a good panoramic view when you reach the stones.

Quite far from where you can park although it is a lovely walk. These stones are from the bronze age but not as impressive as Stonehenge.

A good 20min walk up to Duddo Stone Circle. Great views out over surrounding countryside. Note you walk though farmland so must be respectful and Stick to the desigbated path.
