The Great Hall must have been a fantastic place to party. The scale model in the underfloor rooms shows just how it would have been set up to impress the bishop’s visitors.

There is much to explore in this place of power and pleasure, which entertained marcher lords, Tudor monarchs, high church officials and visiting aristocracy.

Located at the side of the cathedral, CADW is now responsible for the upkeep although it is still owned by the cathedral. A small charge is levied for entry but there are plenty of nooks and crannies to explore.

I couldn't wish to be treated more courteously than I was by the staff here.
Information boards dotted around the place were very helpful too.
There's a welcome in the seaside!

I'll let the photos speak for themselves, because you either like ruined mediaeval palaces or you don't.

Amazing palace!! Really informative and playful info boards. Loads of cubby holes and service tunnels to explore.
If you're able to, I recommend going up the stairs in the tower (back right of the site, based on facing from the entrance) - there are some fab views to be had

Very interesting and informative ruin to visit and as its next to the Cathedral and on the edge of St. David's its ideally placed.

I miscalculated my schedule so was only able to spend three hours here. Luckily that means I can come back. Absolutely magnificent site, with St David's Cathedral as well as the remnants of the old Bishop's Palace. Set down the slope with a small stream separating them, it's hard to appreciate the majesty of both areas. I cannot wait to return, this site is now a top five favorite.

Amanda and her colleague (male, sorry didn't get his name) were extremely welcoming and informative.. they had lots of knowledge and were more than happy to answer any questions we had. Their customer service was impeccable.
The Palace ruins are amazing. We spent a good hoir walking around and discovering hidden nooks amd crannies.. highly recommend a visit.

I was very impressed with the how much you could see here, there's lots of room's to explore. Some have very steep and tight staircases so be careful if you struggle with mobile issues. There's a talking information board in some if the room's which really brings the place to life and gives a good indication of went on here.
