Nice place to visit for an hour. The staff were obviously so passionate about it, it really showed and was pretty infectious - the gentleman who greeted us made a point of saying that the displays and cupboards etc were laid out to be touched / opened / explored and out 5 year old took this as a challenge.... Its a stunning building and the older remains of the castle were great - I had a bit of a panic over the narrow stairs but my kids and husband seemed to love it. The little herb garden was sweet. Plenty of outdoor space and picnic benches to enjoy a picnic lunch. The toilets were absolutely immaculate! It really felt like a lot of pride was put into keeping the place at the best it can be.

Beautiful spot for a picnic. Lovely grounds and short walk to castle. Coffee shop not yet open as it's being built still ☹️ well worth a visit with kids too as theres always something going on in the summer months

Great place to visit,so much to see and very well set up visually in kitchens etc. The castle is great for kids to roam and to play in the court gardens. Food and coffee both very tasty, lovely new restaurant. Definitely worth a visit.

Toilets onsite, with great parking, and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff.
The keep is in remarkable condition, though not restored, but the residence is beautifully restored and is a snapshot into the past. This location was used in filming the movie Restoration, (aptly) we spent a good couple of hours here and had lunch in the garden at the rear in the shade of a lovely old Oak tree.

An outstanding place to visit. So much to see and learn about. Because so much has been restored, you gain a good understanding of what life was like within the castle walls. Will definitely visit again.

We had a fantastic afternoon wandering around the buildings and grounds. There was an activity trail for the kids which our 5 year old loved. The cafe was not open when we visited but we had taken a picnic anyway (the orchard garden is fantastic setting for a picnic). We will definitely be returning. A beautiful place in a beautiful location. There are also lots of picnic tables dotted around so I would definitely recommend making use of them.

Came across this place while travelling down through Wales. Cared for by Cawd ( Welsh version of English Heritage). 2 places for the price of one. Restored medieval court house, set up as if the lord of the Manor was at home. You can explore the round tower ofthecastle, the rest of the site is privately owned. There is plenty of parking, toilets, gift shop & cafe / restaurant

Second time I have visited this castle, since my first visit, it went through a bit of change. It has a new visitors centre and a restaurant. A lovely tower from the Norman time, and a middle age court yard with its surrounding buildings. Great audio tour is available.
