Not easy to get to now as access to slate steps steps upto castle now due to a high wooden fence. Once up there the views of Swansea and Liberty Stadium are superb.

First off. No signage to tell you you have arrived.
Directions on Google are wrong, take you into a private drive DO NO ENTER, it's not fair on the house owner. A little research and a shamble of a lane to the base of the castle mound,.. Now access is on a scale of 1 to 5 with difficulty of 5 plus. Im a competent walker and agile and I was on 3 contact points minimum on the CLIMB to the castle ruins.. At the summit.
The location has become a bit of a teenage hang out with fires in the fire places. This is not irresponsible behaviour this is a matter of their right as having mastered the climb why shouldn't they have the right to enjoy some comfort and relaxation in these ruins. I'd never have believed this castle would have been here if I'd not have made the effort to climb. The views are stunning and worth it. And bless anyone brave enough with a rucsac tent and provisions to climb this and enjoy the serenity and isolation in an otherwise hectic and vibrant location.they deserve a reward.
Ruins 5 location 5 access 3 information ZERO wow factor... Off the freaking scale.
Visit pack a rucsac picnic enjoy the climb and marvel at how the Heck someone manages to build on top of that hill.s

Very hard to locate. Difficult to climb to access the site . Not well paved out to enable access very step slipper, not carved out track. . Very over grown way up to the castle. Not sign posted either do difficult to find from the street . But beautiful views once you get to the top

Definitely not the best for accessibility to the location of a parking before getting there. I had to park at the bottom of the road and walk up. It is difficult getting to the top as it is a bit of a scramble. It is absolutely worth it when you get to the top though as the views are outstanding.

Quite an epic outline on the skyline but really is the definition of a ruin, not much left - pretty from here view though and looks cool from a distance!

Interesting and great views when there but difficult to get to Not much there but you can use your imagination. I ended up going the difficult way. The best way is to take route from bottom corner of Park Llewelyn entrance where it meets Cnap Llwyd Rd, start to go down the hill, look for high fence on left. Go to end of this fence and look for very small gap. It is before property number 21. Go up this tiny pathway, follow fence and turn left, there is some very small writing on fence to say the same. Follow the pathway up to the top, you should go through a little wooded area and then on to some small steps. When you reach the last step, bear right a little and it should become obvious.

This is actually my family's castle, it was built in the early 1700s by my 7th great grandfather and passed down to my 6th great grandfather Robert Morris who went on to move to America and sign the declaration of independence, articles of confederation and the constitution. He was best friends with Alex gallatin. Alexander Hamilton, and George Washington and he helped create the financial System we have in America as well as the Marine Corps, he was known as the financier of the revolution, he also has an entire town in America called Morrisville Pennsylvania, I really wish that Swansea looked after my family history better because now what was a very beautiful home is now in ruins. I wish I could restore her to her former glory but sadly I dont have that kind of money. This home is actually way more historical than what's written maybe I know this because It's my family history but there really should be more history written on this so people actually know about it.
