My self and a group of friends (8 adults) stayed in the Piggeries for a long weekend in June 2015. It was the perfect location and accommodation to chill out and relax with friends. The place was very clean and had everything we required to cook for 8 and enjoy a BBQ overlooking the beautiful countryside. If I was going over to Shaftsbury again I would definitely opt for another stay at the Piggeries.

I stayed here with my wife and two children, aged 1 and 3, and we all had a super time! It was a very relaxing place to stay and has excellent facilities. The children loved playing inside and out and made good use of the sandpit and wide range of toys. The grounds wrap around the property and provide and excellent sense of adventure. The views from both inside and outside the property are lovely. Whether you are staying with children or not, this really does provide a great place to unwind! We intend to return again...

Been here twice and the owner Sam has always accommodated our needs. I think sitting in the “back garden” and looking at the English country side is priceless. The accommodation is nice and spacious and location wise you are not too far from the main Dorset attractions. Well worth a visit.

Definitely 5 star for quality (beautiful design and well equipped) , location ( rolling picturesque countryside surround the property) and extremely quiet & peaceful.

Recently returned from our 4th stay at The Piggeries which just shows how good we think it is - we have two small children. It is a well equipped property decorated and furnished to a high standard with a slightly funky streak. It is in a rural setting with wonderful views from the large garden and of course is quiet. There is loads to do and see for all ages in this beautiful part of Dorset and the coast is about an hour a way for time on a beach. There is an excellent local pub with great food near by and Shaftesbury and Gillingham are 15/20 mins away. Sam the owner is very helpful and will sort out babysitting etc . In summary, a super place to stay and we recommend it highly.
If I was going over to Shaftsbury again I would definitely opt for another stay at the Piggeries.
