Just returned home from a Monday-Friday stay at Bishops Castle Barn. Had an absolutely amazing week and loved every minute. The barn was perfect in every way and exceeded our expectations, it has so many little gadgets and features that make it just that bit more special. Our favourite bit definitely has got to be the hot tub, it was beautiful in the evening in there with all the lights on. The surroundings of the barn were breathtaking to say the least, it was so nice waking up in the morning and looking out the onto the amazing views. Bishops Castle itself is very small, however we found there was everything we needed during our stay. The local co-op provided us with everything we needed for the week. We went to eat one evening at The Boars Head which was lovely and would recommend! We definitely would want to return to the barn again in the future as we had so much fun this week! We reccomend a million percent, and if you want a relaxing break you are guaranteed to love it. Last of all thank you to Tim for making us feel welcome and making everything perfect for our stay, and the homemade goodies were a lovely treat as well!

Another perfect mini break with friends. The Barn is beautifully appointed and was tastefully decorated for Christmas this time around. The photos of the scenery, whilst stunning, simply don't capture the breathtaking reality of the views across the valley. You will have to visit to see for yourself! Great base for walking and exploring the Shropshire Hills and the Welsh borders. Can recommend the Three Tuns pub or the Castle Hotel in Bishop's Castle for a warm atmosphere after a bracing walk through the fields. Still to brave the hot-tub in December...an experience for another time! Thanks to Tim and Andrea for making our stay so relaxing.

Have stayed at the barn a couple of times with family and with friends and absolutely love the place. The barn itself is spotlessly clean and equipped with all mod cons throughout. Bedrooms and en suites are excellent - love the fact I can hook up my iPhone to the bathroom mirror via Bluetooth and play music! Sonos in the lounge area also an excellent touch. Views from the barn windows across the valley are breathtaking. The barn location is simply awesome with magnificent views, scenery and some amazing walks. Would highly recommend if you’re after a complete 'away from it all' relaxing break or holiday.

Peace perfect peace! We needed a relaxing quiet getaway, and boy, did Bishop’s Castle Barn deliver.
The barn is kitted out to an excellent standard and has so many little touches to make everything hassle free, simple and easy.
The kitchen is well equipped so that you can actually cook too, if you want to cook on holiday that is!
The hot tub is absolutely lush too. Never ever have I been more relaxed.
The views are stunning, and with only sheep for company you’ll have all the peace and quiet you could want.
I can’t recommend Bishop’s Castle Barn highly enough, we are already looking at when we can come back! ❤️

First stay to Bishops Castle Barn and it was wonderful. It was in such a beautiful spot and a truly get away from it all location. The cute town was a short drive away or a 20-30 minute walk across fields. The barn itself was wonderfully designed a great use of the space. It was immaculate with little techy touches. The hot tub was a great bonus. A fab host too who had every detail covered!

This is perfection from start to finish! The barn is decorated beautifully and makes you feel cozy and right at home! Whatever you may possibly need during your stay - the owners have provided it! And if there is anything missing - they will provide it next time around, which makes them the best and the most caring hosts! The bed is like a cloud and the sheep alarm clock is lovely to wake up to! :D And let me also tell you about the hot tub and how amazing it is to submerge in this warm bliss and gaze at the stars! My husband and I discovered it by chance and cannot wait to come back for our magical Christmas :)Highly recommended!

We spent 2021 NYE here and it is such lovely accommodation in a beautiful and picturesque place. The lodge is perfect for a getaway break with views for miles and every comfort you have at home. Also the hot tub is awesome in such a good spot. Can't wait to revisit!

Our fifth time at the Barn since it opened, managing a trip every year pre-COVID. Returning after circa 2 years due to COVID, it was like coming back home.
Tim & Andrea continue to be attentive, good humoured, & considerate hosts. The Barn is neat, tidy, clean & warm with great gadgets to make the stay more enjoyable. There are stunning 180+° views over the Long Mynd valley and you can get lost watching the world go by with only the sound of the wildlife & grazing sheep to break the serene silence. On a clear night the Barn comes into its own, soaking in the hot tub watching the stars float by.
Whilst relatively remote (part of its appeal), its only a 30ish minute walk down the hill to Bishops Castle where there's pubs, cafes, an Indian restaurant, and & Co-op.
For those after some activity, there's some beautiful and challenging (ie; hilly) running & cycling routes from the Barn.
Whilst it is appealing to vegetate in the Barn, it is equally a great base to explore the area situated yards from the England/Wales border. The Brecons and Snowdonia are only 2ish hours away, equally Ludlow is half hour away and there's numerous scenic places to explore both on the Shropshire & Welsh sides of the border. The Barn itself is on the edge of the Shropshire AONB.
In short, every time we leave we spend the journey home working out when we can go back - that's got to be all the endorsement you need.
