Just returned from five days at Blackwell Barn. The location is perfect for a peaceful get away. There are lots of walks to be done locally as well as visiting Flatford Mill and Lavenham. The barn itself was spotless with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite had a lovely shower. We loved watching the alpacas and the chickens. The welcome pack was very well received on arrival as after a six hour journey we were in desperate need of a cuppa. Local amenities were within a ten minute drive. We would thoroughly recommend anyone wanting to visit the Ipswich/Colchester area to stay here.

Every part of the barn is really well done. It’s so spacious and modern (yet also cosy with original features) with lots of attention to detail. Location is great and we loved the alpacas and chickens. Lovely walks on your doorstep and really close to Dedham & Flatford where we swam in the river. I couldn’t really recommend this place more to be honest; it was such a find and we’re so glad we stayed. Thanks to our wonderful hosts too who responded to all of queries really quickly.

Spacious bedroom , the whole place was tastfully decorated, with soft fluffy towels in the bathroom . The kitchen was well equipped with good quality pots and pans. The attention to detail pushes this accomodation to the top. We were left a welcome pack which included fresh eggs from the chickens that strut around. We were entaintained by the alpacas and the rabbits that come out to play each evening. Throughly enjoyed our stay would happily return. Keith and Yvonne were helpful and excellent hosts.

Immaculate barn conversion, very comfortable, tastefully decorated and furnished, lovely ensure shower room, fabulous kitchen area, everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Highly recommended!

As owners of Blackwell Barn we can recommend it as a great all year location for a holiday. Newly converted to the highest standard with under floor heating and air source heat pump. Alpaca in adjacent field are great to watch. All mod cons. In Constable Country.
